Radix Paeoniae Rubra belongs to the radix of Paeonia lactiflora Pall ofRanunculaceae plants. Northeast of China is one of the major production areas. Climate issuitable for its growth. In recent years, environmental destruction affected the storage of it. Thedemand for Radix Paeoniae Rubra exceeds the supply. Sanguisorba officinalis pretend to beRadix Paeoniae Rubra in some places. Requirement of the yield and quality is increasing.The study based on its characteristics of enjoying light, drought and easily catches anillness. Pot experiments were done on the plant received from7producing area, such as Sipingwere planted. To investigate the drought-enduring, shade-enduring and disease-resistance, it canbe told that the peony’s drought-enduring and shade-enduring features in Sipng are relativelyhigh. Thus when it comes to quantity, Siping is the production’s first choice.Paeoniflorin is the major components of radix paeoniae rubra, and the paeoniflorinextracted from radix paeoniae rubra with ultrasonic method. Response surface experiments wereused to optimize the extraction of paeoniflorin based on the results of single factor experiments.In the17trials, the effects of extraction time, methanol concentration and extraction temperatureon paeoniflorin of extraction were studied. The optimum technology was obtain byBox-Behnken, and the regression model was set up, and the optimum technology was that theextraction time was22min, methanol concentration was60%and extraction temperature was62℃, which the concentration of paeoniflorin was the (2.32±0.04)%.In this paper, four main contents from radix paeoniae rubra in ten different producing areaswere compared. The contents of paeoniflorin, polysaccharide, essential oil and water-soluble extraction were analyzed by the HPLC, ultraviolet spectroscopy, essential oilmeasurement and extract methods, respectively. And the result showed that the effectivecomposition content of the herbs from the10different producing areas accorded with standardof medicine. The concentration of paeoniflorin in Liaoyuan, Lijin province was the highest, andits reached2.16%; the contents of polysaccharide and essential oil in Dunhua was highest, andits reached0.065%and0.065%, respectively; the contents of water soluble extraction inHaila’er was the highest, its reached17%.The different processing methods were different in each area. In this paper, takingpaeoniflorin, water soluble extract, water content, ash content and TLC as assessment indexes,ten tests two drying means were systematically compared and analyzed after processing, theresults showed that the contents of paeoniflorin were from1.84%to2.15%; the contents of water soluble extract were from13.2%to16.5%; the contents of water content were from1.5%to3.5%; the contents of ash content were from8.5%to13.5%in the10tests, all the sampleshad the same spots as well as the reference substance. All of the roots met the requirement, andthe active ingredient concentration of unprocessed and sun-dried sample were higher.
