With the improvrment of living standards and the change of people lifestyle inmodern society, the morbidity of hyperlipemia increases. Hyperlipemia is found closelyrelated to cancer, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegenerativediseases. In this study, we focused on the application of Ericaceae Vaccinium flowers. We put forward the main active components and antioxidant activities of blueberryflowers, and chose hawthorn used in combination with blueberry flowers based on theoriented principle of combination of bioactive components from natural hyperlipidemicmedicine, to ascertain the ratio of bioactive components, and study the hyperlipidemiceffect of blueberry compound prescription. The research in this study can not onlyprovide experiment basis for the comprehensive development and utilization ofblueberry flowers, but also enrich the oriented principle of combination of bioactivecomponents from natural hyperlipidemic medicine. The main work and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) The radical scavenging of different extracts from Vaccinium blueberry flowersare studied by using DPPH, ABTS+systems, and the contents of total phenols andflavonoids of different extracts from Vaccinium blueberry flowers are measured byultraviolet spectroscopy. The results show that:①The different extracts fromVaccinium blueberry flowers has the activities of scavenging DPPH and ABTS+freeradical, and it has the characteristics of dose-dependence. We found that methonalextracts has better activities of scavenging DPPH and ABTS+free radical than all theother solvent extracts, and the EC50are77.61±10μg/mL,32.69±5μg/mLrespectively.②There are different contents of total phenols and flavonoids fromdifferent extracts from Vaccinium blueberry flowers, and methonal extracts has the most, its contents of total phenols and flavonoids are34.69±2.32g/kg and13.97±1.87g/kgrespectively.③There is a significant correlation between the antioxidant activities andthe contents of total phenols and flavonoids from blueberry flowers, which revealed thatthe contents of total phenolics and flavonoids can be the main active compounds ofantioxidant extracts from blueberry flowers, and can be the compound of improve thefunction of cardiovascular in the combination of hyperlipidemic medicine.(2) On this basis of the antioxidant activities of blueberry flowers, and activecomponents oriented, we chose hawthorn used in combination with blueberry flowers to study the hyperlipidemic activities. According to the oriented principle of combinationof bioactive components from natural hyperlipidemic medicine, the flavone in blueberryflowers can act on cardiovascular system and improve blood circulation, the triterpenein hawthorn can act on the gastrointestinal system and has the effects of diuresis andcholagogue. So we combinated blueberry flowers and hawthorn to study itshyperlipidemic activity. The ratio of flavone and triterpene are setted by1:2,1:4,1:8,the ratio of flowers and hawthorn are6.7:1,1:1.3,1:7.2correspondingly.(3)72SD rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, lovastatingroup, flowers submicron powder high(0.90mg/100g), low(0.45mg/100g) dosagegroup, combination submicron powder between flower and hawthorn A(6.7:1), B(1:1.3),C(1:7.2) group, each group had9rats. Control group was fed by normal foddder, andthe other groups were established by high fat fodder for60days, then the TC, TG ofserum advanced significantly, which meant the model was successfully. After55days,weigh body, liver, kidney and heart, count the ratio of viacera and body weigh, determine the TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, MDA, SOD and T-AOC of serum, and HL,LPL in liver tissue. The results show that: There is not significant difference for the ratioof heart and body weigh. There is significant difference for the ratio of kidney and bodyweigh between model group and all other groups(P <0.05). And for the ratio of heartand body weigh, there is not significant difference among blank group, lovastatin group, combination B group and combination C group, these groups has significant differencewith flowers high, low dosage group and combination A group. Compared with modelgroup, all the flowers high, low dosage group, combination A, B, C group can decreasedsignificantly the serum TC, TG, LDL-C, and increase significantly(P <0.05) the serumHDL-C of hyperlipidemic rats, increased significantly(P <0.05) the serum T-AOC, andSOD activities of hyperlipidemic rats, and decreased significantly the serum MDAcontent, and increased significantly(P <0.05) the HL and LPL activities in liver issue ofhyperlipidemic rats. The combinations between flowers and hawthorn have betterantioxidant activity than flower use only. The combination B group, which the ratiobetween flowers and hawthorn is1:1.3, between flavone and triterpene is1:4, showsbest hypolipidemic effect.
