ObjectiveTo discuss the law of gastrointestinal decompression quantity after esophagectomychanging with the postoperative days and the related influencing factors ofpostoperative gastrointestinal decompression quantity. Explore the value of thegastrointestinal decompression quantity for forecasting postoperative complications.Materials and MethodsRetrospectively analyze the past five years esophageal resection clinical date of ourdepartment, record the gastrointestinal decompression quantity of the patients withoutcomplications at different times after esophagectomy. As the days after esophagecto-my an independent variable, the gastrointestinal decompression quantity a dependentvariable.Establishing a mathematical equations to describe the law of gastrointestinaldecompression quantity after esophagectomy changing with the postoperative days.Calculating the average daily drainage quantity five days before after esophagectomyas an dependent variable, record the possible independent variable(gender, age, stature, weight, smoking history, drinking history, segmentation, pathological type, pathologicalstaging, operation time, operation method, anastomotic position, gastric tube),throughunivariate and multivariate regression analysis to find the related factors and establisha mathematical equations;Comparing the gastrointestinal decompression quantity ofthe complications with the former mathematical equations to verify its applicationvalue. Results1.The law of gastrointestinal decompression quantity after esophagectomy changingwith the postoperative days accord with a quadratic curve, the Prediction equationsis that Gastrointestinal decompression quantity=82.215+69.620×days-6.604×days2.The equations has statistical significance through statistical tests.2.Through univariate and multivariate regression analysis the independent relatedfactors of gastrointestinal decompression quantity include gastric tube(β=0.410,P=0.000),smoking history(β=-0.231,P=0.000),age(β=-0.193,P=0.001) andpathological type(β=-0.169,P=0.006). The regression equations is that the dailydecompression quantity before5days=262.287+132.873×gastric tube-72.160×smoking history-27.904×pathological type-36.368×age.The equations has statisticalsignificance through statistical tests.3.The gastrointestinal decompression quantity of the patients with delayed gastricemptying, anastomotic bleeding and lung infection has statistical differences incomparison with the equations, and anastomotic fistula didn’t have statisticaldifferences.ConclusionsThe law of gastrointestinal decompression quantity after esophagectomy changingwith the postoperative days accord with a quadratic curve, the Prediction equationsis that Gastrointestinal decompression quantity=82.215+69.620×days-6.604×days2.The independent related factors of gastrointestinal decompression quantity includegastric tube, smoking history, age and pathological type. Gastrointestinaldecompression quantity has some value for forecasting postoperative complications.
