Objective To evaluate the sub-health and burnout condition ofSeafarers, and combined with existing cardiovascular disease early warning model toexplore the role of sub-health and burnout state to risk of cardiovascular disease. Methods Seafarers were selected from January to June in2013.The sub-healthcondition was measured by the questionnaire which was made by ourselves, andcombined with physiological index, blood biochemical parameters, physical indicatorsand laboratory testing.Job burnout was investigated by the questionnaire of MaslachBurnout Inventory-General Survey in seafarers.By a10-year risk prediction modelsfor ischemic cardiovascular disease (man)estimating the risk of ischemiccardiovascular disease in the10years and explore the role of sub-health and jobburnout to heart risk of vascular disease on seafarers.Result (1)1045seafarers wereselected and the valid questionnaires were1007,the effective rate was96.36%.The allseafarers were male and the average age were35.58±8.74years old.(2)The scores ofphysiological sub-health state were significantly highest in the30~45age group orthose married seafarers (P<0.05).while the scores of Psychology sub-health weresignificantly highest in seafarers who had a Associate’s degree and above,or in thosewith high family income(10000yuan/month)(P<0.05).the scores of Socialsub-health were significantly highest who had a Associate’s degree andabove(P<0.05).As shown in the result of multiple-factor analysis,a long Sailingtime, poor sleep quality, overtime working, and occupational stress were the main riskfactors for sub-health. However, physical exercise was a protective factor.(3)Thescores of emotional exhaustion and cynicism were significantly highest in theyoungest age group(<30years old)the divorced or widowed group,or those withmonthly family income of10000yuan/month (P<0.05).while the scores of reducedpersonal accomplishment were significantly highest in seafarers who had aAssociate’s degree and above,or in those with median family income(3000~6000yuan/month)(P<0.05).As shown in the result of multiple factor analysis, poorsleep quality and occupational stress were the main risk factors for burnout. However, physical exercise was a protective factor.(4)A total of392seafarers is estimatedCVD risk, the average risk of1.78±1.41%.A positive correlation between thephysiological sub-health status and CVD risk; regression risk show that thephysiological sub-health is a risk factors to CVD risk. Conclusion(1)Burnout andsub-health among seafarers was affected by many factors. Therefore measures shouldbe taken by relevant administrative departments and seafarers themselves to reducethe incidence of burnout and sub-health.(2)Cardiovascular disease may be animportant warning indicator of sub-health state.
