Knee osseous arthritis has become one of the main joint diseases that obsess themiddle-aged and old people.As the survey suggested, in the future the number of cases ofknee joint diseases in the elderly will continue to grow.Currently total kneearthroplasty,TKA,has become the only effective way to cure knee osseous arthritis.However,the prosthesis used in the operation are mainly from western countries or manufactured byfollowing the examples of foreign prosthesis by domestic producers.Anatomical structure ofthe knee prosthesis can not be suited to Chinese people’s knee,resulting in non-idealtreatment effect.Based on the above situation,this research has mainly studied on optimal design of kneeprosthesis based on medical imaging technology and3D reconstruction technology andstatistical analysis.Also, this study has covered SLM forming technology with CoCr alloy.The main content of the thesis is as follows:Firstly, the thesis reviewed laser rapid prototyping technology’s application situation inmedical area and basic principles and research situation of SLM and the design situation ofknee prosthesis, which should be the theoretical basis of this study.Secondly, the thesis studied on modeling Chinese thighbones and tibiae with3Dreconstruction technology and simulating the bone cutting and measuring cutting bones’anatomic dimensions. Then the differences between male and female in knee anatomicstructure was studied and the quantitative linear relationship was worked out. Theseachievements can provide support for Chinese knee prosthesis design improvement.This research employed the self-development SLM equipment Dimetal-100with fiberlaser to study SLM forming process with CoCr alloy, by discussing how laser power,scanning speed and scanning interval affected on relative density and parts’micro structuresand mechanical performance.Finally, with the forming characteristics of designed kneeprosthesis in analysis, the processing scheme to improve the forming quality and accuracywas carried out, including optimizing the placing style and the scanning strategy. Also itreduced the thermal stress.
