Objective: To detect the expressions of hepatocellular carcinoma, down-regulated1(HEPN1)and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)in non-invasive andinvasive pituitary adenomas, and discuss their correlations with invasion andrelationships with each other. Methods:A total of16cases of surgically resected pituitary adenoma specimenswere collected during the period of September2013to December2013at theDepartment of Neurosuegery,The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University,Nanchang,China.there were7non-invasive and9invasive pituitary adenomas, whichwere defined on the modified Hardy,s classification. To detect the mRNA expressionsby reverse transcription PCR and to detect the protein expression by western blot ofHEPN1and MMP-9in7non-invasive and9invasive pituitary adenomas specimens.Result:The mRNA and protein expression levels of HEPN1were significantlylower in invasive group than in non-invasive group(P<0.05).The mRNA and proteinexpression levels of MMP-9were significantly higher in invasive group than innon-invasive group(P<0.05).The expression of HEPN1has negative correlation withthe expression of MMP-9in invasive pituitary adenomas. Conclusion:The expression of HEPN1and MMP-9are closely correlated withaggressive pituitary adenoma behavior,The down regulated expression of HEPN1may cause the rise expression of MMP-9and promote tumor invasion. |
