Objective To evaluate the clinical value of ultrasound imaging and CT in localiza-tion and qualitative diagnosis of adrenal masses. Methods Ultrasound imaging and CT findings of82patients with adrenal masses were compared to their pathological results, respectively. The diagnostic accordance rate between ultrasound imaging and CT, as well as between ultrasound imaging and patholo-gical results, CT and pathological results, was analyzed. Results In total,86lesions were confirmed by surgery. The localization and qualitative diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound imaging and CT was92.9%(78/84)、95.2%(80/84)、90.5%(76/84) and88.1%(74/84), respectively. No statistical significance was found between these two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound imaging and CT are both of great value in localization and qualitative diagnosis of adrenal masses. The size of adrenal masses and condition of individual patient should be considered to decide which method would be used. Ultrasound imaging may be recommended as the first choice due to that it is noninvasive, convenient, and nonradioactive.
