Objective To study the prevalence of Type2Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in onecommunity residents of Yinchuan.Through community-based intervention, evaluate theinfluence of intervention on knowledge, attitude, behavior etc in community patients withtype-2diabetes. Discusses a kind of effective community comprehensive interference patternMethods Multi-stage random cluster sampling was employed to984recruit subjects whowere18years of age or over and were permanent residents of Yinchuan Dongyuancommunity. the diagnosed diabetes patients and IFG patients were divided into interventiongroup and the diabetes and fasting glucose patients in Community-based chronic diseasemanagement information with impaired control group,a series of nine month interventionswere token on intervention group while control group have none.Results The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and IFG was8.74%and7.62%respectively.The gender specific rate for DM was11.19%for males and7.74%for females,(χ~2T2DM=3.032,p=0.082>0.05)。The IFG prevalence for male and female are9.09%、7.02%(χ~2IFG=1.236,p=0.266>0.05). The total DM and IFG prevalence rates were increased byage;According to the intervention the knowledge of Diabetes related in intervention group weresignificantly higher than that in control group(P <0.05). Fasting blood glucose, blood glucose andpostprandial2h glycosylated hemoglobin are significantly lower in intervention group than the controlgroup (P <0.05).Conclusion Obesity, Dyslipidemia, hypertension are the major factors associated withT2DM,Residents should have reasonable diet and have more reasonable exercise to prevent the diabetes. Community intervention can improve the health knowledge level of the patientswith type2diabetes, Change the attitude and bad behavior of patients and reduce bloodsugar, to prevent complications and improve their life quality.
