Objective: To explore the antenatal risk assessment and clinical meaning ofSevere Preeclampsia. Methods: We reviewed152inpatients in our hospital for severe preeclampsiaduring the period from January2006to October2010. All patients were dividedinto3groups according to their evaluation points.71patients were definedas group A (points lower than6), other39patients in group B (points between6and10) and the rest42patients were in group C (points greater than10).We compared the three groups with their general situation, complications, neonatal asphyxia and prenatal child mortality, neonatal birth weightdifferences.Result:1. There were statistical difference among the three groups in terms ofpatients’ blood pressure, hospitalization of gestational, delivery ofgestational, and the time of treatment (P<0.001).2. The complication of pregnancy rate showed significant difference amongthe three groups (P <0.001). However when compared to each other, Group Aand group B showed no much difference (P>0.05), while group C wassignificantly different from either group A or group B (P <0.05).3. There were statistical difference among the three groups in terms of theneonate birth weight, the neonatal asphyxia, FGR,infant of low-birth weight, and prenatal mortality (P<0.05). When compared the neonatal asphyxia, FGRand prenatal babies of each group, Group A and Group showed no much difference(P>0.05), while group C was significantly different from either group A orgroup B (P <0.05). 4. When compared the outcomes of complication group was significantly higherthan the non-complication group in terms of prenatal babies, The FGR,neonatal asphyxia, neonatal and prenatal mortality (P <0.05).Conclusion:Severe preeclampsia usually complicated with pregnant woman and prenatalmortality, which is likely to result in terminal organ damage. Theprogression of disease usually goes through a certain procedure. Therefore, when the state of illness begins to affect the pregnant woman, we should payemphasis on the integral risk assessment, which will greatly benefit thetreatment and delivery, so as to archive the best outcome for both the motherand the baby.
