Organic tea plays a more important role in marketing as well as tendency along people’s focusing on health. For the past few years, organic tea is greatly developed in Hubei Province according to market demand. To 2006, the total organic tea area in Hubei province is to 4 thousand mu, and the quantity of attested organic tea is the second all over the world which is next to Zhejing. Though developing, a part of tea region in Hubei improper land plan and blindly pursue economic benefits. Base on this, the study researched 20 counties of tea region, analyzed the climate condition of these areas, and concluded an equation of climate recourse utilizing multivariate statistical method. Also investigated the harm and prevention of diseases and insect pests, detected the pesticide residue by GC-ECD, and established a regional development planning of organic tea applying GIS. All aimed to provide a theory for the development and application of organic tea in Hubei.1 Analysis on climate resources in tea production areaThe terrains condition is complicated and the distribution of the climate resources is vertical change, so the climate resources in Hubei Province are rich and various. Only usage of the data from meteorological station in low altitude can not fully reflect the climate resources in the investigation place. That is why we collected the data from 1961 to 1990 from many meteorological stations. Applying multivariate statistical method, the light and temperature, the water resources and the latitude, the longitude, the altitude above sea level and two items of the altitude above sea level were carried to fit the multiple linear regression and stepwise regression, then small grid simulating equations of the light temperature and the water in the rural areas of Hubei Province was obtained, thus providing climate resources’ data of each investigation point for analysis on the harm degree of diseases and insect pests and regionalization of organic tea.2 Investigation of diseases and insect pests in major tea regionsThe research selected tea garden in differ altitude to investigate the following indexes: the species, occurrence period, frequency of diseases and insect pests, the pesticide, spraying times, spraying time. The results suggested that tea leafhopper, tea geometrid, tea tussock moth, and tea aphid are the main insect pests which harmed the major tea region in Hubei, while other insect pests such as spiny white fly partly outbreak in some tea region. There is significant difference of the harmful degree of diseases and insect pests among tea regions. The harmful degree of tea leafhopper and tea geometrid in tea region of Dabie Mountain in Eastern Hubei Province is associated with annual mean temperature and annual precipitation. The harmful degree of tea tussock moth in tea region of three gorges is associated with annual mean temperature.3 Detectioin and analysis on pesticide residue of tea samplesThe pyrethrins residues were extracted from tea sample with acetone and n-hexane(v/v=4 : 1) using ultrasonic. After purification treatment of C18 graphite solid phase extraction column, four pesticide residues of synthetic pyrethroid insecticides from 147 tea samples were determined by GC with electron capture detector. The detecting results showed that the detection rate of bifenthrin was the highest to 46.26%, secondly for cypermethrin and cyhalothrin, which was 27.89% and 21.77%, the detection rate of fenvalerate was the smallest to 11.56%; the over standard rate of fenvalerate, cypermethrin and cyhalothrin was 10.88%, 7.48% and 3.40%, but bifenthrin was in the range of organic tea; the detection rate of pesticide residues in 147 tea samples was 57. 82%.4 Establishment on organic tea’s regionalization of Hubei provinceUsing GIS technology (city-star geographic information system) as a means of regionalization, the union of climate resources, the harm degree of diseases and insect pests and the pesticide residue situation is carried on the synthesis regionalization to the Hubei Province organic tea development, which is be divided into zones and not suitable for development area. The suitable development area including Longwangya Tea Plantation in Zhuxi County and so on 58 investigation points, mainly are concentrated on tea regions of Wuling Mountain in Western Hubei and Qinba Mountain in Northwestern Hubei. Other investigation points are divided for the unsuitable development area of the organic tea.
