Lycium ruthenicum Murr. is widely distributed in salinization land, with strong resistance, high economic value and nutritional value, is the pioneer plant to manage salinization land.To study the physiological and ecological mechanisms of salt resistance, provide theoretical basis for L.ruthenicum breeding. In this study,we used leaves from two-year old seedlings of L. ruthenicum as test materials, which came from ‘guazhou’, ‘hekou’, ‘jinta’, ‘laosimiao’ and ‘minqin’ area. Through the treatment of different concentration of Na Cl stress,we screened the changes of water content(MC),relative water content(RWC),water saturation deficit(RWD),free water(FW),bound water(BW),antioxidant enzyme(SOD,POD,CAT) activities, malondialdehyde content(MDA),proline content(Pro),soluble sugar content(SS),soluble protein content(SP),chlorophyll a content(Ca), chlorophyll b content(Cb).The results were as follows:1. Na Cl concentration between in 0~0.8%,water content and relative water content in leaves of L.ruthenicum from five different provenances almost not affectedwith the increase of salt concentration and stress time, they decreased quicker, and water saturation deficit just the opposite.2. With the increase of Na Cl concentration and stress time, free water in leaves of L.ruthenicum from five different provenances decreased consistently, when Na Cl concentration between in 0~0.8%, and to minimize when Na Cl concentration in 1.6%,bound water increased consistently, when Na Cl concentration between in 0.8~1.6%.Free water content maintained at a higher level.and bound water3. Na Cl concentration between in 0~0.4%,SOD,POD and CAT worked together to resist salt stress. With the increase of Na Cl concentration between in 0.8%~1.2%,mainly effected by SOD and CAT,the activitiy of POD decreased consistently, but more than 1.2%,SOD and CAT can no longer protected.4. With the increase of Na Cl concentration and stress time,in leaves of L.ruthenicum from five different provenances MDA content increased, but modestly, free proline content and soluble sugar content increased, soluble protein content first increased and then dropped.5. With the increase of Na Cl concentration and stress time, chlorophyll a content in leaves of L.ruthenicum from five different provenances fluctuated falling, chlorophyll b content declined and quicker when Na Cl concentration between in 0~0.8%.In conclusion, these results indicated that under Na Cl stress they had well salt-tolerance in leaves of L.ruthenicum from five different provenances.By the comprehensive evaluation, the salt-tolerance order of L.ruthenicum from five provenances was listed as followings:‘guazhou’,‘minqin’,‘jinta’,‘hekou’, ‘laosimiao’.
