The quaternary climate change is the most important geological time in the research of global climate change, loess has deposit extensively, continue strongly and high-resolution, so it can be an important carrier in quaternary climate change research, the Azov Sea region is an important area of the Eurasian loess distribution. Currently, loess-paleosol sequence of Pleistocene has made many achievements, this article observed micro-morphology of loess quartz grains in Beglitsa section from the Azov Sea by scanning electron microscope(SEM), attempting to analyze loess provenance, transport and deposition process of the Azov region. This paper obtained the following conclusions: the samples of micro-morphology of the quartz grain surface with ladder fracture, shell fracture, V-shaped crater, dished crater, crescent crater and other trace. A lot of grain surface had different direction and angle of multiple cleavage plane, shows that quartz particles have obvious wind transport characteristics, and the characteristics of the individual particles indicate that loess source may have derived from the continental ice sheets. The micro-morphology of the quartz grain of Beglitsa loess section has the grinding circle trace, which indicates that some of the particles have experienced the process of water transport. Some particles surface had different characteristics dissolution and deposition trace, it shows that the strong and weak of chemical weathering process in post-depositional of loess section. Beglitsa of loess profile in the microscopic features can reflect the loess loess particles forming process, the handling process and later weathering process. The micro-morphology features of loess particles reflected the formation process of loess, the transportation process and the weathering process in Beglitsa loess section.
