With the development of the rural economy, the level of mechanization using in agriculture is rapidly boosting.The products of agricultural are becoming more and more diversified, and the function is getting more and more better. The traditional wheeled harvester cannot work effectively in the mud as more rain in the north of China. The crawler combined harvester is emerging. As part of the main forced in the combined harvester the body is sustaining the load from the cutting, bridge, granary,drive shaft, cab, engine.etc.It has a great significance in body lightweight researching after running finite element analysis and structural optimization.In this paper, as the mainly researching object, the body of the combined harvester is defined. First of all, the three dimensional model and finite element model are created respectively, by using the UG and HyperWorks. Then, the body is analyzed on the strength, stiffness and modal analysis in the two traditional working conditions. Furthermore, on the base of the result the body is optimized under the topology and size projects. Finally, the new structure of the optimal design is verified.The result show that the new body is lightweight as well as satisfying the requirements of strength and stiffness. And It also has a reasonable vibration characteristic. Above all, the research meets the need of the design.
