| Tamias sibiricus is one of important rodent populations in broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest of Xiaoxing’anling region, and between their storage food behavior and the natural regeneration of Korean pine and other plants have close relations. Liangshui National Nature Reserve is considering revising in China as one of the original red pine forest in the few. In order to find out the hoard behavior of Tamias sibiricus in the broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest, from the beginning of 2013, we used infrared camera at field observation. The chipmunks’hoarding behavior, artificial storage point, food source, activity rhythm by tracking observation, line transect observation, establish artificial storage and excavate caves of chipmunk. The results we obtained were as follows:1. The chipmunk’s daily activity rhythm exhibited:March, chipmunks’ type curve was single peak; from April to June, the curve presented a double-peak type;In July and August, the active curve from double-peak type to single peak; between September and November, the chipmunk’s daily activity rhythm once more in single peak.2. The chipmunk’s main behavior including:hoarding behavior, vigilance, resting, grooming, chasing, other behaviors. The hoarding behavior observed in the highest frequency, accounted for the highest proportion of the time budget, for 62%~64%, the remaining several times are less, only 2.2%-18%.3. The chipmunk’s food source has two parts:one part is seasonal food, the other part is the chipmunk can steal food of other animal. In different seasons plant food for the food composition of 95%. Chipmunk found 60.45% of Artificial storage point.4. The chipmunk has scattered hoarding behavior, and they preference dispersed hoard seeds under shrubs. The point size of scatter is not the same, the point of 72.50±16.01% for 1 grains,5±5% for,6.67±4.08% for 3 grains,9.17±5.34% for 4 grains,2.08±2.08% for 5, 4.58±2.68% for 7.the depth of point between 1.5 cm and 3cm.5. Chipmunk preference coniferous forest of Pinus koraiensis, the sunny slope and has fallen wood habitat cave as their own place. There were 704.46±226.83g shelled pine seeds before in the winter. There were some plant material, for example wilted leaves, the seeds of Aceraceae and hickory, moss,6. In the range of 30 meters in cave,89.9% of chipmunks have hoarding behavior, but only 10.1% of chipmunks have scatter hoarding behavior. |
