Toona ciliata var. pubescens, known as "the Chinese mahogany", was belong to Meliaceae, Toona and deciduous or evergreen tree. It was a precious timber species endemic to China, for high-quality furniture timber, with high economic value and development prospects. In the "plant red book" Chinese, Toona ciliata var. was listed as endangered species under state protection (category II). The hign quality wood products played great role in promoting economic development in forest region in South China, financial income and expand employment of farmers. They had become a local forestry industries and pillar industries. The current market demanded for urgent breeding of Toona ciliata var. pubescens.The cutting orchard establishment and seedling rapid propagation technology of Toona ciliata var. pubescens had been carried out for continuous 3 years on the experimental observation in the paper. The clonal planting density, maternal stem height, clonal pruning and clonal maternal formula fertilization for the cutting orchard of Toona ciliata var. pubescens were discussed, and the clones rooting rules and clonal cutting propagation technique etc.. of Toona ciliata var. pubescens were also discussed. The results were as follows:(1) Total numbers of twigs of Toona ciliata var. pubescens clonal cutting orchard had significant differences, and significantly affected the propagation coefficient of clones.(2) The plant spacing for 1 m*2 meters was appropriate for the nursery of maternal initial planting density of Toona ciliata var. pubescens clonal cutting orchard, and can significantly improved the cuttings ear number per unit area.(3) The maternal stem height of Toona ciliata var. pubescens clonal cutting orchard for 80 cm was appropriate, the total buds of per plant was the largest, and the lighter and shorter cutting or short cutting of mother branches could receive better ear stimulation effect.(4) To apply urea for 0.2 kg per plant of Toona ciliata var. pubescens clonal cutting orchard, could receive better effect on the cutting production.(5) There were two rooting types, such as namely bark rooting and callus rooting in twig cutting rooting. Bark rooting type exited in most Toona ciliata var. pubescens clones, and a few clones contained two rooting types.(6) Four clones whose cuttage rooting rate reached above 80% were selected.(7) The softwood cutting techniques of Toona ciliata var. pubescens clones were proposed.(8) We establish the mathematical model for breeding seedling number per unit area and height growth, diameter growth of Toona ciliata var. pubescens.
