In order to improve the sustainable utilization of pressure land in arid areas in central Ningxia, the changing laws of Ningxia pressure sand melon physiological traits, yield, soil quality with sandy gravel mulch and effects of different irrigation quota on physiological characters and yield of melons are investigated.Based on different cultivation methods (direct seeding, transplanting seedlings, different watermelon varieties and different sand gravel mulchedfield) are researched to select the suitable cultivation methods, irrigation quota and watermelon varieties). The research findings could explore the development direction of pressure in the soil physical and chemical properties, and improve the water use efficiency of yield and quality,the research results are of great significance to the improvement and sustainable utilization of gravel mulched field.The main results are as follows:1. The plot comparative test method, to Jincheng No.5 for watermelon varieties, set the live and grafted seedlings two treatments of cultivation modes; every kind of cultivation treatment set three irrigation level, for different period of pressure Mulched Field watermelon were studied. Results showed that higher pressure sandy age is small, pressure sand Melon Yield and quality index; grafting seedling planting yield increase effect significantly, "grafted seedlings cultivation mode is suitable cultivation; irrigation quota control in about 12 m3/667m2 both guarantee the watermelon fruit quality and ensure a suitable yield, is suitable irrigation quota.2.The contrast test method is also taken to study the different irrigation quota, with Jincheng No.5 and Zhongqing No.5 tested varieties of watermelon, in which three kinds of irrigation quota level are set up.The results show that "CY 5" watermelon yield slightly higher than "Jincheng No.5" watermelon yield, "Green No.5" watermelon yield increase effect was obvious and"green 5" Watermelon Cultivars in Xiangshan area is more suitable.3. The contrast test method is also taken to study different gravel mulch gravel mulchedfield soil physicochemical properties.Results show. The total salt content in soil of sands increased first and decreased then increased with sandy gravel mulch. The sandy field soil nutrient content was significantly decreased with sandy gravel mulch, and the soil physical and chemical properties developed to the the inferior direction.
