In order to investigate the effect of chlorogenic acid on the phathogenicity of Lymantria dispar necleopolyhydrovirus(LdNPV), diet plus was used to test the toxicity of LdNPV to the 2nd instar gypsy moth larvae, and the developmental duration, pupal weight, moth rate and sex ratio of the survivors were statisticed and analyzed. And to further study the effect of chlorogenic acid and LdNPV for the detoxicat enzymes in the midgut of gypsy moth, we determined and analyzed the specific activity of carboxylesterase for the 4th instar larva of gypsy moth. The results show that:1. The median lethal concentration (LC50) value of LdNPV to the 2nd instar larvae fed on the artificial diets with chlorogenic acid (CA) was 161.8 OBs/μL (95% certification is 105.6~235.3 OBs/μL), and was 264.4 OBs/μL (95% certification is 178.6~384.0 OBs/μL) without CA. The median lethal time (LT50) of LdNPV with the concentration of 590 OBs/μL to the 2nd instar gypsy moth larvae fed on the artificial diets with and without CA was 9.9 days and 12.3 days, respectively. The LT50 of LdNPV with the concentration of 5900 OBs/μL to the 2nd instar gypsy moth larvae fed on the artificial diets with and without CA was 6.9 days and 8.0 days, respectively. The higher the concentration of LdNPV,,the lower the LT50. The artifical diet with CA lowed LC50 and shorted LT50 of LdNPV to gypsy moth larvae comparing with that of the diet without CA. The results indicated that chlorogenic acid could enhance the virulence of LdNPV to gypsy moth larvae, but its enhancing mechanism need to be studied further.2. Gypsy moth who were fed on the normal article diet, when the concentration of LdNPV was 5.9 OBs/μL, the development duration of male larva and male pupa of were significantly different from cont:ol; when the concentration of LdNPV was 5.9 OBs/μL, the male pupa weight were significantly different from control; when the concentration of LdNPV was 590 OBs/μL, the development duration of female larva and pupa weight were significantly different from control. Gypsy moth who were fed on the chlorogenic acid article diet, when the concentration of LdNPV was 5.9 OBs/μL, the development duration of male larva and pupa, the weight of male pupa and fecundity were significantly different from control; when the concentration of LdNPV was 5.9 OBs/μL,the weight of female pupa was significantly different from control; when the concentration of LdNPV was 590 OBs/μL, the development duration of male larva and weight of the male pupa were significantly different from control. When the concentration of LdNPV was 5.9 OBs/μL, the development duration of male larva and fecundity of gypsy moth who were fed on the chlorogenic acid article diet were significantly different from gypsy moth who were fed on the normal artificial diet; When the concentration of LdNPV was 590 OBs/μL, the development duration of male larva and weight of the male pupa of gypsy moth who were fed on the chlorogenic acid article diet were significantly different from gypsy moth who were fed on the normal artificial diet.3. The carboxylesterase specific activity of gypsy moth larvae which was fed on normal artificial diet for 24h was the highest and for 96 hours was the lowest; The carboxylesterase specific activity of gypsy moth larvae which was fed on the chlorogenic acid artificial diet for 24 hours、48 hours and 96 hours was higher than the carboxylesterase specific activity of gypsy moth larvae which was fed on normal artificial diet; The carboxylesterase specific activity of LdNPV infected gypsy moth larvae which was fed on the normal artificial diet for 24 hours was the highest (0.161/mg pro/min), and for 72 hours was the lowest (0.01/mg pro/min). The carboxylesterase specific activity of LdNPV infected gypsy moth larvae which was fed on the chlorogenic acid artificial diet for 24 hours was the lowest (0.09/mg pro/min), and for 72 hours was the highest (0.225/mg pro/min。)...
