Kmeria septentrionalis Dandy, Magnoliaceae Section Kmeria Dandy genus, also known as fine stamen magnolia, wood Yong-huan,single-sex flowers and dioecious genus in magnolia. The distribution of small size, less number of trees forest, and natural seedling seed yield is low, as the focus of a protected plant. This species is national key protected wild plants of level I. It is a fast-growing timber species and the garden of ornamental trees, and cultivated very promising. To get a list of the differences between male and female plants of Magnolia conducive to the rational use and cultivation of the species, for this thesis Kmeria septentrionalis adult female, male plants as experimental materials to study their morphology, cytology and agronomic characters of different physicochemical different growth stages in order to easily and quickly and accurately identify Kmeria septentrionalis way to find sex. Kmeria septentrionalis provide guidance for the conservation and utilization.By Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants leaves, flowers, stems external morphology measurement, statistical analysis showed that:(1) female plant leaf length and aspect ratio are significantly less than male plants, female plants of leaf area is smaller than the male plants, female plants from leaf blade base 1 cm,3cm at the leaf width was significantly greater than male plants, female plants that is the width of the leaf base a wider wedge. Kmeria septentrionalis female plant leaf thickness than the thickness of the skin thickness, palisade tissue thickness and palisade tissue and spongy tissue were significantly greater than male plants, female plants under extremely epidermal thickness is significantly less than male plants; (2) upper Kmeria septentrionalis female plants bud is acuminate, the upper end of male plants bud is anxious point. During the same period Kmeria septentrionalis less than male plants female plants bud bud; long Kmeria septentrionalis female plant bud cross section, broad, cross-sectional area, length and bud length and cross-sectionalarea ratio of buds buds are significantly smaller than the male plants. (3) a biennial stems and wood microstructure Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants were no significant differences.Through different growth periods Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants physiological parameters were measured, the results show:(1) SOD activity Kmeria septentrionalis male plant leaves in March was significantly higher than female plants, differences in other months SOD activity was not significant; POD activity Kmeria septentrionalis male plant leaves in March was significantly higher than female plants, in September female plants is significantly less than male plants, female plants in December was significantly greater than among males in other months the difference was not significant; PPO activity differences Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants leaves were not significant. (2) water-soluble phenolic content difference Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants leaves were not significant. Soluble sugar content Kmeria septentrionalis male and female plants leaves in March, May, September and December there was a significant difference, but did not reach a significant level, in other months the difference was not significant; Kmeria septentrionalis male plant leaf soluble protein content was significantly higher than in other months female plants difference was not significant in December,in other months the difference was not significant.Based on the above findings, in the identification Kmeria septentrionalis gender differences in these indicators can be combined with each other, thereby accurately identify Kmeria septentrionalis gender.
