The Study On Flowering Ornamental Plant Design For Children Playground In Urban Comprehensive Park

Playgrounds in urban comprehensive parks are important places for children’s outdoor activities. This study aims to arouse public awareness on the environment for the growth and entertainment environment for children. Furthermore, by field investigation and literature review, we expect to find the suitable flowering ornamental plants for children and discuss further the landscaping of those plants on playground in the purpose of promoting the overall development of children.Based on in depth literature review, this article summarized current research of flowering ornamental plants and their landscaping of the children playground in urban comprehensive parks at home and abroad. In combination of botany, physiological psychology of children, landscape architecture and other subjects, the author expounded the strategies of flowering plant design for children playgrounds in urban comprehensive park. The author chose three typical children playgrounds in comprehensive parks in Shenzhen as the research objects:Lichi Park, Central Park and Lotus Hill Park. Through fieldwork and questionnaire surveys, this study summed up the existing problems of the flowering ornamental plants design for children playgrounds and offered several suggestions to solve them. Meanwhile, the author proposed the principles of flowering plant design for the children playground in comprehensive parks.Through the study on the flowering ornamental plants design of children playground in urban comprehensive park, this research systematically discussed the pragmatic way of creating high-quality outdoor play or entertainment environment for children. It also reveals the development trend of the flowering ornamental plants design for the children playground. We expect that more beautiful, interesting and educational children playgrounds can be built by applying this research to practice.
