Study On The Breeding And Cultivation Of The Pumpkin New Variety ’Hong Li No.2’

With the function of rich nutrition and health care, pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) has became one of the important vegetable crops of Cucurbitaceae and developed rapidly in recent years. However, there is a great gap between the lagging behind of the pumpkins variety breeding and the rapid development of pumpkins industry, which seriously hindered the further development of pumpkin industry in China. Breeding of high yield, high quality, adapt to different market demand pumpkin varieties is of great significance.1、’Hong li 2’is a new hybrid squash (Cucurbita maxima) cultivar with high quality and red skin. It was developed using inbred line HP-35 as female and JP-1 as male parent. The inbred lines respectively introduced from abroad pumpkin varieties which inbred isolated.2、’Hong li 2’successfully overcome the main deficiencies of Cucurbita maxima of cultivars in our country,which have a very good comprehensive properties. The whole growing period is about 110d and the fruit development is about 45d from flowering. The fruit is oblate shaped with red skin. The flesh thickness is about 3.8 cm. The flesh color is orange and the flesh is fine and sweet. The average fruit weight is 2.7 kg, and 667m2 yield is about 3000 kg. The cultivar showed good fruit set, high plant vigor, tolerant to cold and hot temperature and good adaptability in multi-location and multi-season trials. It can be used for commercial production in most winter squash production areas in China.3、Effects of different cultivation methods on the quality of’Hong li 2’pumpkin exist significant difference. When using climb to double cross training to cultivate, ’Hong li 2’pumpkin comprehensive quality is optimal.4、In order to obtain a set of nice cultivation methods for new variety pumpkin, the author did field experiment for several years and summed up a set of’Hong li 2’ pumpkin procedures of cultivation techniques of high yield and good quality.5、Through the summary of’Hong li 2’ pumpkin seed production for many years experience, the author summed up a set of’Hong li 2’ pumpkin inbred lines breeding parents and health seed breeding technology discipline.
