Corn is the most important food crops in the world, as well as an important raw material for feed, industry, energy and other industries. With the increasing of population and the improving of peopleā€™s living standards in our country, demand for corn production has increased dramatically. The ear angle trait of maize played a decisive role in the yield of maize. In all ear traits of maize, the formation of ear angle will directly affect the dehydration rate of grain during the harvest period, and affect the efficiency of mechanical harvesting. So far, there was no report on the key genes which controlling the shape of maize ear angle. In this study, we use four recombinant inbred lines population to locate QTLs which controlling maize ear angle trait. The major results are as the follows:1.The phenotype of ear angle trait are examined in BYD, BYK, CIK and MX population,8 QTLs are detected using the analysis of composite interval mapping in IciMapping in total.2,1,2,3 QTLs are detected for BYD, BYK, CIK and MX population respectively.2.There are 2 QTLs detected in BYD population in total, these loci are accounted for 12.07% of phenotype variation. The 2 QTLs are on chromosome 2 and chromosome 7, the position on the chromosomes are 107.8cM and 159.2cM, LOD are 3.30and 3.61, the loci are accounted for 5.72% and 6.35% of phenotype variation,respectively.3.One QTL is detected in BYK population, it is on chromosome 3, the position on the chromosome is 57.8cM, LOD was 4.49 and the loci is accounted for 7.57% of phenotype variation.4.There are 2 QTLs detected in CIK population in total, these loci are accounted for 11.73% of phenotype variation. The 2 QTLs are on chromosome 3 and chromosome 6, the position on the chromosomes are 75.5cM and 60.5cM, LOD are 3.50 and 3.21, the loci are accounted for 6.18% and 5.55% of phenotype variation, respectively.5.There are 3 QTLs detected in MX population in total, these loci are accounted for 20.16% of phenotype variation. The 3 QTLs are on chromosome 2 and chromosome 4. There are 2 QTLs detected on chromosome 2, the position on the chromosomes are 84.1cM and 181.6cM, LOD are 3.33 and 3.57, the loci are accounted for 6.56%and 6.93% of phenotype variation, respectively. There is 1 QTL detected on chromosome 4, the position on the chromosome is 123.3cM, LOD is 3.33 and the loci is accounted for 6.67% of phenotype variation.
