As the main body of terrestrial ecosystem, Forest plays a key role in maintaining the ecological balance and sustainable development of human beings. The forest coverage rate is lower than other countries but the forest fires frequent in our country. The forest fire influents the protection and development of the forestry resources. Therefore, evaluating forest fires loss through advanced scientific technologies and research methods has great realistic significance in preventing forest fires, reducing loss of forest fires and protecting forest ecological environment and also has great significance to preventing forest fires and reducing loss of forest fires.Based on a comprehensive research on forest fires loss-at domestic and abroad, proposed a scientific forest fires loss evaluation system was proposed this paper. The losses of forest were divided into direct economic losses, indirect losses and ecological losses and then subdivide them to many parts. Direct economic loss includes wood resources loss, fixed and current assets loss, economic forest loss, fire rescue expenses, agriculture and animal product loss and casualty losses. Indirect economic loss includes atmospheric pollution losses state revenue, loss by reducing of products, loss by travel trade, ornamental value loss etc. The indirect economic loss maybe greater than direct losses and the indirect losses still exists in the forest fire. The ecological environment loss including water conservation forest losses, absorb carbon dioxide losses, soil and water conservation losses, the loss of conserving water and soil benefit and other ecological loss. Furthermore, this paper gives a detailed description of the concept and evaluation method.Taken an analysis evaluation for forest fire loss that happened in Nanning, Guangxi Province as a case study, The forest fire broke out in April 2013, and the forest fire overs an area of 30.25km2, this paper verified the forest fire loss evaluation systems. The result indicates that the impact of forest fires on forest tree resources and forest ecological environment are significant and far-reaching.Based on the studying of forest fire losses in abroad and domestic, this article put forward forest fire loss assesses system. The estimation after forest fire disaster covered many aspects and many factors, which is not only a complex system project, but also a long time and hard process, and not perfect in many aspects because of the limitations of objective condition and research level. However, more and more people care ecological environment, forest fire loss assessment will get further results.
