In China, large and medium-s ized irr igation ar eas occupy a very important role in agr icultural development and national economy. C anal system engineer ing shoulders water transpor ting and distr ibution for the whole irr igation area in irr igation ar ea engineer ing. The irr igation engineer ing that has rational layout, complete equipments and water f low ing zones can ensure irr igation project having the normal benef it. I n China, most of irr igation fac ilities in the irr igation ar ea built in 50 ~ 70 s of the 20 th centur y. By the limitation of economic and soc ial development level and mater ial and financial resources, many engineer ing technical standard is low and have poor quality of construction. The standard of the pr oject has alr eady started to aging, and s ome engineer ing itself may be not done because irr igation pr ojects have r an for many years. Engineer ing eff ic iency is low, water cost is high. Therefor e, research on the irr igation canal system layout and channel section optimization des ign has a great s ignif ic ance to save construction investment and improve the eff ic iency of agr icultural water, from saving construction investment and impr ove the eff ic iency of water us e. Taking J iangchuan Irr igation area in Heilongjiang pr ovinc e as an example, we w ill study the canal system, channel s ection optimization techniques and methods, and the main res earch contents and methods ar e as follows:(1)by the analys is of plane layout char acter istics of irr igation system in J iangchuan Irr igation Ar ea, the paper us e ant colony optimization algor ithm to optimize the des ign and taking the shortest path as the objective function, realizes the algor ithm in the application of the distr ibution of irr igation canal system. By changing the values of par ameters in the algor ithm, analys is the inf luence of diff erent values of parameters to algor ithm perfor mance and the shortest path of canal system.(2)The investment of canal project occupies cons ider able proportion in the whole irr igation area and channel excavation and lining occupy the main investment, so des ign of channel cross-section whether r easonable dir ectly inf luence the benef it of irr igation and water conservancy engineer ing in agr icultural res earch. The paper use cat swarm algor ithm to optimize the des ign of canal cross section in J iangchuan Irr igation and take the cross section ar ea as the objective f unction. It does not affect the f low condition befor e and after the optimization are compared, the excavation ar ea is reduced and the engineer ing investment is also reduced after optimization. When optimizing the des ign of the channel section, it als o w ill be affected by the parameters of the s lope coeff icient, the roughness of the channel bed and the width depth r atio of canal bed. The selection of these par ameters is ver y impor tant, which is related to the economic value of the irr igation dis tr ict.(3)On the bas is of reading a large number of domestic and for eig n liter ature related to the optimization and adjustment of pumping stations, this paper intr oduc es the theor etical res earch on the optimal operation of pumping stations. And s et up the dynamic progr amming mathematical model to des ign the optimal adjustment of the pumping station of J iangchuan Irr igation area, w ith the objective function of the minimum energy consumption. The results show that the J iangchuan Irrigation Distr ict pumping station optimization des ign can better meet the irr igation needs for water-saving transformation and corollary to provide a scientif ic basis.
