Maize is an important food,industrial raw material and high quality food in China,it play an important role in grain production in our country. In this paper, by taking the typical cold maize Demeiya 1,Kenwo 3 and Xiangfeng38P05 in heilongjiang province as the research objectc, by using the universal testing machine and with the method of combining theory and experiment,study the influence of the different moisture content and mechanical properties on compression,shear and tensile mechanical properties,analyze the relaxation property and damage rate, and explore the internal function between damage rate and the compression on the maize bud. The specific research results are as follows:(1)Measuring the size, grain, sliding friction angle and natural physical parameters of maize bud, obtain that moisture content,variety and bud length have an important affect on the bud’s physical properties.The results showed that:In length,Demeiya 1 is more longer then Xianfeng38P05 and Kenwo 3. Xianfeng38P05 and Kenwo 3 are more closing to the ellipsoid.On these grain,sliding friction angle and natural physical parameters,Demeiya1 are the biggest,Kenwo 3 are the least and Xianfeng38P05 is between the 2 varieties.(2)By making compression test,obtain the moisture content,varieties and different placing ways have significant affect on elasticity modulus,compressive strength and damage energies. The results showed that: The flat lay that can bear more force than side lay and vertical lay,and the vertical lay can bear the minimum force. With the increase of moisture content,the lasticity modulus,compressive strength and damage energies are reduced. The lasticity modulus,compressive strength and damage energies of Demeiya1 are greater than Kenwo 3 and xianfeng38P05.(3)By taking shearing test,obtain the relation curves of force and displacement,time and force,stress and strain characteristic parameter.And also obtain other characteristic parameter,using DPS build the mathematic equation. The results showed that: Destructive power of body bud is 34 times larger than sprout bud;differernt varieties influence shear force,the shear force of Demeiya1 is the biggest between the three varieties.With the increase of moisture content, the shear strength and elastic modulus are reduced.(4)By taking stretching test,obtain the relation curves of force and displacement,stress and strain characteristic parameter.And also obtain other characteristic parameter, using DPS build the mathematic equation. The results showed that: such as the moisture content of 35% tensile load,the average load of Demeiya 1 is the biggest,the Kenwo 3 is the smallest.the elastic modulus and tensile strength of Xianfen38P05 is the biggest,the Kenwo 3 is the smallest,Demeiya is between Xianfen38P05 and Kenwo.(5)Through analyzing the rheological properties of the three kinds maize buds,obtain the relaxation curve of different moisture content,the results showed that,varieties have affect on survival rate. When the Demeiya1 bearing load is 205 N,the survival rate is 0%,when the Kenwo3 and Xianfeng38P05 bearing load is 175 N,the survival rate is 0%.
