The body temperature of sow detected by new electronic chip is a new technology, which has some advantages of small size, high accuracy and easy operation. And it can reduce the stress than the traditional way of rectal temperature detection. The body temperature of sow shows a regular change in the estrus and ovulation. Thus, the objective of this study was to set a model of automatic detection for recommending the best breeding time and improving the efficiency of swine production, which based on the change of temperature and behavior between the onset of puberty and the time of ovulation by new electronic chip.Experiment 1. Comparative study between mercury thermometer and the new electronic chip detect the body temperatureAccording to a single factor experimental design,8 Meishan gilts and 10 LY gilts with the same age and body weight were detected the subcutaneous and rectal temperature by the new electronic chip and the mercurial thermometer respectively during the estrus. The testing time lasts per detection every 2 h between 06:00-18、18:00-06:30. It aims to identify new electronic microarray accuracy and sensitivity of sow subcutaneous temperature. The results showed that the new electronic chip and the mercurial thermometer had significant positive correlation during the estrus (P<0.05); These two different ways had significant positive correlation at the different time in the estrus of Meishan and LY gilts (P<0.05). In summary, the new electronic chip can replace the mercurial thermometer for detecting the body temperature at most of the time in Meishan and LY gilts, so we can use the new electronic chip for detecting the body temperature of gilts.Experiment 2. The change rule of subcutaneous temperature and behavior performance of different varieties gilts in the estrus and non-estrusAccording to a single factor experimental design. The aim of the present study was to investigate the change rule of body temperature of gilts by the new electronic chip in estrus and non-estrus. The material and methods were similar with experiment 1. The results showed that the body temperature presented a trend of rising first then falling during the three days before estrus(Meishan and LY gilts vigil reflection temperature was 38.80℃ and 38.47℃), and the temperature of the start of estrus rising to the highest. However, the time of dropping to the lowest temperature persists another 12 h in Meishan gilts than that in LY gilts, and there had a great extent of temperature in Meishan gilts during the estrus. In addition, the feed intake of gilts in the estrus was significant increased (P<0.01), and the duration of estrus in Meishan gilts was longer than that in LY gilts (P<0.01).It can be concluded as follows:1) Comparing with the mercurial thermometer, we found that the new electronic chip can be used to detect the body temperature in the estrus.2)The gilt of Meishan and LY temperature changes rising and then falling of the law around estrus.3) The gilts were more active in the estrus than non-estrus.
