The hemorheology is a new discipline, which has been developed in the past 20 years and a emerging frontier branches of science which mainly deals with the blood, vessels and the rheological properties of blood components and its change regularity. Many diseases can cause the changes of hemorheology, and therefore more and more attention is paid by people to investigation and clinical application of the hemorheology. In this experiment, normal values of hemorheology of healthy dogs were measured, and variations of hemorheology were investigated when dogs were anesthesia and operation in order to provide evidence for reasionable application of hemorheology in clinics.Experiment I Measurement of Hemorheology and Analysis of Its Variation in Healthy DogsTo study the hemorheology and its change law of healthy dogs, and to establish the hemorheological evidence for clinical diagnosis,136 healthy working dogs were selected for checking hemorheology. The relevance between these data and the dogs’ age, breeds, sexuality was analyzed. The results showed that parameters of male dogs were usually higher than these of female, though the difference was not significant (P>0.05); the whole blood hemorheological papameters of male dogs were obviously higher than these of Labrador Retriever, German shepherd and Springer Spaniel(P<0.05), the plasma viscosity was not significant (P>0.05) between all breeds; The whole blood hemorheological papameters of dogs aged 1~9 year old were markedly higher than these of younger than 1 or older than 9 year old (P<0.01). It is indicated that There are obvious differences of viscosity between whole blood and plasma, in which could be associated with a large number of erythryocytes in whole blood.Experiment Ⅱ The Effect of Anesthesia on Hemorheology in DogsTo study the effects of anesthesia on canine hemorheology,8 indigenous dogs were selected to be anesthetized with Shumianling by intramuscular and intravenous injection and with Zoletill by intramuscular injection, each test interval was one month. Before and 60 minutes after anesthesia,3 mL blood sample was phlebotomized from cephalic vein and the hemorheology were measured. The results showed that the high, middle and low shear rate whole blood viscosities and plasma viscosity were 3.05±0.96,3.57±1.19,7.17±2.41 and 1.34±0.25, respectively before intramuscular injection of Shumianling, and were 2.63±0.30,3.16±0.49,5.69±1.64 and 1.21±0.05, respectively 60 min after intramuscular Shumianling; the high, middle and low shear rate whole blood viscosities and plasma viscosity were 2.84±0.37,3.30±0.46,6.75±1.29 and 1.29±0.13, respectively before intravenous injection of Shumianling, and were 2.63±0.25,3.02±0.34,6.09±0.94, 1.29±0.12 respectively 60 min after intravenous Shumianling; the high, middle and low shear rates whole blood viscosities and plasma viscosity were 2.87±0.62,3.31±0.77, 5.70±2.33,1.32±0.23 respectively before intramuscular injection of Zoletill, and were 2.43±0.26,2.78±0.35,5.35±0.78,1.16±0.05respectively 60 min after intramuscular injection of Zoletill. The blood viscosities of all groups after anesthesia were lower than that before anesthesia, but the differences were not significantly (P>0.05). It indicated that Shumianling and Zoletill can reduce canine blood viscosity obviously.Experiment III The Effect of Laprotomy on Hemorheology in DogTo study the effect of laprotomy on hemorheology in dogs and provide a scientific basis for surgical wound healing,8 China dogs were selected for this experiment. These dogs were anesthetized with Shumianling and then were purposed the laparotomy.3 mL blood was phlebotomized from cephalic vein before anesthesia and post-operation 1,3,7,15 d, respectively. Then the hemorheology were measured by these blood samples. The results showed that post-operation 1 d, the high, middle and low shear rate whole blood viscosities were very significantly higher than that of pre-operation (P<0.01); post-operation 3,7 d, the high, middle and low shear rate whole blood viscosities were significantly higher than that of preoperation (P<0.05); the plasma viscosities of post-operation 1 week were significantly higher than that of preoperation (P<0.05); post-operation 15 d, the whole blood and plasma viscosities reduced to the normal. It indicated that operation can raise the blood viscosity significantly.
