The study, which mainly research the hickory hull fermentation technology, the hickory hull’s capability of preserving fertility and water, the growth condition and nutrient content of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo,is aimed at to control the hickory hull environmental pollution and develop new matrix of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo. The main results are as follows:1) Fermentation strains for hickory hull are a group composite fermentation flora. The hickory hull was blended with different proportions sheep, pig manure and silkworm excrement. The results show that the materials blended with sheep, pig manure and silkworm excrement has start-up fast and long time high temperature, pH reached 8 in the first 10 days. The germination index of every materials reached 50% in the first 10 days. It proves that the hickory hull blended with sheep, pig manure and silkworm excrement can improve the efficiency of aerobic fermentation.2) Comparing the capacity of preserving fertility and water of coarse hickory hull, fine hickory hull, coarse pine bark and fine pine bark, the leaching amount of nitrogen, phosphor, potassium of coarse hickory hull, fine hickory hull was least, the leaching rate was the lowest, the saturated water holding capacity was better. It proves that the capacity of preserving fertility and water of hickory hull are better than the pine bark.3) The growth index of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo shows that as the substitution ratio of hickory hull was 40% or 60%, the substrate advantageous to the increase the number of shoots, sprout height and yield.4) The results of the nutrient content of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in different treatments show that the content of phosphor, potassium of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in treatments contain hickory hull was higher then the treatment contain pine bark. The content of potassium of the stems 0f Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in treatments contain 80% hickory hull was the highest. The content of potassium of the leaf 0f Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in treatments contain 100% hickory hull was the highest. The content of phosphor of the leaf 0f Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in treatments contain 80% hickory hull was the highest. It proves that the substrate contain hickory hull can promote the absorption of nutrient.5) The content of heavy matals of Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo in treatments contain hickory hull was in the safe range and lower than the treatment contain pine bark. It proves that the hickory hull used to be substrate is safe.
