Rice is the most important grain crops in China. Relying on progress in science and technology to increase rice yield is the inevitable choice to solve the problem of grain in China. We determined Yongyou 12 as the super high yield rice varieties to be researched and extented through rice varieties comparative study on the adaptability. Then we designed some field trials like different sowing time, sowing density, transplanting seedling age, nitrogen fertilization according to the production fact in Ninghai. Combining with the experience of high yield, we eventually advocated a cultural technology system of Yongyou 12 based on yield above 900kg/mu. The main results were as follows:(1) Introducing research method of site-specific nitrogen management (SSNM). Through the Yongyou 12 different nitrogen test, using SPAD chlorophyll meter to trace changes in the leaf color in main period, we studied the effect of different nitrogen fertilizer on the leaf color and final yield and established site-specific nitrogen management technology of Yongyou 12 based on yield above 900kg/mu.(2) Forming a cultural technology system of Yongyou 12 based on yield above 900kg/mu, which is instructive and feasible for rice production in Ninghai. The technical points of the system are:seed treatment (chemical soaking, germination, sowing with pesticide), sowing properly early (between mid May to late May), quantify sowing seeds (Hand transplanting seedling:12kg-15kg/mu, mechanical transplanting seedling:50g-60g/tray), short-age seedling with early planted (seedling age 15d-20d), appropriate sparsely planting density (Hand transplanting: about 30cmx27cm, mechanical transplanting:30cm×21cm), enhancing application of nitrogen and moving base nitrogen dosage to panicle stage (base:tilling:panicle is 3:4:3), moist irrigation, integrated control of diseases and insect pests.(3) Achievements of entension and application:Plant area of Yongyou 12 was continued to expand, from 10,000 mu in 2010 to 42,000 mu in 2014; At the same time, the yield steadily improved. From the yield survey of Yongyou 12 in 2013, the average yiled reached 826.7kg/Mu.
