In this study, a natural offspring MTP-58 of a tri-species hybrid (MTF-1) that was created by laboratory 701 was used as the material to preliminarily explore application including propagation characteristics, dynamic process of growth, nutritional value and density effects. Test results obtained are as follows:1. Through a study of the propagation characteristics of Yu Qilin 58, the results showed that it has the characteristics of asexual reproduction and it can survive from vegetative propagation. By studying the effects of different nodes on cutting survival rate to show that there were significant differences in survival rates between different parts of the cuttage, stem cuttage in the lower part with the highest survival rate for 51.69% and the survival rate of the lower cutting that was laid flat was higher than and the lower cutting that was straight up,26.93% for central cuttage and 10.32%for upper cuttage. By means of direct division propagation from the overwintering survival of seedlings, the survival rate can reach 95.50%.2. By studying the growth dynamic of Yu Qilin 58, it turned out that the growth dynamics of plant traits as well as fresh matter and dry matter accumulation process was in line with Logistic curve equation. It was harvested at 115d after transplanted with the fresh yield 89034.01Kg/hm2, and the dry stem/leaf ratio was 0.51; It was harvested at 135d after transplanted with the fresh yield 89034.01Kg/hm2, the dry stem/leaf ratio was 0.93. So, at 115d after transplanted, the forage palatability and nutritional value of "Yu Qilin 58 was better than that of 135d after transplanted. If Yu Qilin 58 was for the purpose of forage, the first most appropriate harvest time would be about 115d after transplanted, it could obtain a higher biomass yield and better quality forage grass.3. By studying the nutritional value in different vegetative organs of Yu Qilin 58 when it got the highest yeild, the results showed that its CP, EE, CA contents of leaves were higher than that of its stems, indicating that the nutritional value of leaves was better than its stems. As for the vegetative organs stem, CP content of 58 (6.98%), EE content (2.17%), NDF (67.10%) and ADF (40.85%) of Yu Qilin 58 were higher than that of SC3 and Guimu No.1;CA content(5.11%) was higher than that of SC3 and lower than that of Guimu No.1. As for the vegetative organs leaf, CP content (13.32%) was higher than that of SC3, Tz07 and Guimu No.1; EE content(5.11%) was lower than that of SC3, TzO7 and Guimu No.1; NDF content(57.10%) was lower than that of SC3 and TzO7,higher than that of Guimu No.1; ADF content(32.61%) was hiher than that of SC3, lower than TzO7and Guimu No.1; CA content(8.70%) was lower than that of SC3 and Tz07,lower than that of Guimu No.1. It indicated that CP content of Yu Qilin 58 was rich.4. By studying the effects in different densities of Yu Qilin 58 on agronomic traits and fresh yield, it turned out that planting density had a significant impact on its fresh yield, with the gradual increase of planting density, fresh yield showed "tow-high-low" trend. When planting density reaches 12833 plants/hm2, it can get the highest fresh yield. In addition, the effects of plant density on traits such as plant height, tiller number, total stem diameter, number of green leaves on main stem, pour four leaf width and pour four-leaf area etc, is also significant. With the plant density increasing, the plant height increases as well, conversely, tiller number and total stem diameter decrease. According to Correlation Analysis of fresh yield and planting density, Agronomic Traits, the results showed that plant height and fresh yield, density was significantly positively correlated, indicating that the plant height was the main factor to determine the fresh yield of Yu Qilin 58. What’s more, fresh yield and density also showed a significant positive correlation, but the planting density was so large that would lead to reduction of output.
