Application Research Of Ground Cover Plants In Urban Greening

To build the landscape architecture and improve the quality of landscape, ground cover plant plays an important role. In recent years, among the plant materials used in urban greening construction ground cover plant is becoming more and more important in proportion. Study the selection and application of ground cover plant for optimal allocation of ground cover plants in landscape and maximize the ecological benefits has a direct guiding significance. In this paper, the ground cover plants species and application conditions of public green space in Shanghai has been carried on the investigation and analysis. From the ground cover plant application of the People’s park, GongQing Forest Park, and YanZhong green in Shanghai, the choice and application of Shanghai public green land cover plant are successful. At the same time the application situation of planting effect and the landscape effect are also quite good, met the ecology principle and the basic principles of landscape ecological design. But there are some shortcomings in detail aspects, such as the biological habit of plants is not suitable for configuration location, the problem of introduced variety adaptability and so on. Finally, according to the investigation conclusion, the selection and the application principle of ground cover plants in urban public green space were discussed, the ground cover plants application of "green roof" and "vertical greening" were further put forward, as well as application forms of the ornamental vegetables, which not only arrive the needs of the development of urban economy construction but also solve the problem of urban ecological environment well. At the same time appropriate work can edify sentiment, and get the neighborhood closer.This study on the ground cover plant application of urban landscaping construction has got reference sense.
