Dongting mountain is an important production area for evergreen fruit, which has a long history of fruit tree cultivation, including 18 kinds of fruit trees, such as loquat, bayberry, citrus, dates, pomegranates, persimmons. The cultivation mode is mixed planted among various fruit trees or between tea and fruit trees. Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, also known as fruit maggots, belonging Diptera Tephritidae, is China’s second-class quarantine pest. It was observed since 2003 in this area, and caused damage on citrus, peach, pear, dates, pomegranates, persimmons. The occurrence of them is ahead of time, the scope of damage is extended, and the damage trends are aggravation gradually. This paper studied the population dynamics of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in mixed planted orchard of Southern Jiangsu province, the effect of different hosts and soil management systems on population dynamics of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, and compared the control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel among different adult trapping ways. We also screened the chemical agent of controlling the Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, and got conclusions as follows:1. The peak occurrence for Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in Mixed Planted Orchard of Dongting mountain in Suzhou was from early August to the end of October, which was the best period for the control of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel. The peak occurrence for Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in jujube orchard was August, between early September and mid October in pomegranates and citrus orchard, between early September and late October in loquat and citrus mixed planted orchard, between early October and late October in pear, pear and citrus mixed planted orchard. The population dynamics of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in jujube and citrus mixed planted orchard presented a bimodal curve. The first peak was between early August and early September, and the second peak was in concentrated in mid October. The population occurrence for Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in citrus orchard with sod culture was significantly higher than that with clean tillage.2. We studied the control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in fields with different adult trapping methods, and the results were as follows:In jujube and citrus mixed planted orchard, the effect of trapping insects with Methyl eugenol was the best, with 67% of the total in trapping insects and 0.8% female ratio. The control efficiency reached 48% at maturity period on August and 21.74% in mid October. The effect of trapping insects with yellow trapping insect board took the second place, with 24% of the total in trapping insects and 24% female ratio. The control efficiency reached 24% at maturity period on August and 13.04% in mid October. The effect of trapping insects with trapping insect protein was worst, with 9% of the total in trapping insects and 32% female ratio. The control efficiency reached 20% at maturity period on August and 0 in mid October.3. At the peak occurrence for Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, we studied the control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel with different pesticides. The results were as follows:2.5% Cyhalothrin EC,75% WP cyromazine and 40% chlorpyrifos EC had a better control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, with the control efficiency 74.84%, 75.22%,70.65%, respectively.1.3% matrine agent had a less control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, with the control efficiency 54.13%. Compared with the control effect of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel with four kinds of pesticides alone, the control effect had not improved combined with sex pheromone. Owing to its simple operation, low cost, being friendly to environment, sex pheromone can be used alone to control population when Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel was in lighter case. When Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel was at the peak occurrence, sex pheromone can be used combined with pesticides to reduce the use of pesticides.
