This experiment studies the impact of different levels of Chinese herbal medicine feed additives on poultry production, carcass quality, meat quality and flavor. The 817 broiler chicken was used as experimental animals in this study. This Experiment uses orthogonal experimental design with single factor. The 35-day mature poultry has 19 different treatments. The 48-day mature poultry group has 21 different treatments. Among them, there is one control group and two antibiotic treatments with 50mg/kg and 12.5mg/kg respectively in each set.Experiment data analysis concluded: the 817 broiler chicken factors can be improved by some of the Chinese herbal medicine feed additives. There is no obvious difference within each group, including control group and antibiotic treatment groups, on dripping loss test and water content test, no obvious differences within each group(P>0.05).Fat and protein content are improved after using Chinese herbal medicine feed additives. However, on stewing loss test and the quality of tender, only part of the Chinese herbal medicine feed additives sets can improve the 817 broiler chicken test results.Nucleotide content test on 817 broiler chicken chest shows that nucleotide content can be increased by different degrees when Chinese herbal medicine additives were used in feed, except formula 17. Experiment indicates the feeding Chinese herbal medicine additives can increase nucleotide content on 35-day mature 817 broiler chicken. By testing the nucleotide content(IMP and GMP) in breast meat of 48-day mature broiler chicken, there is extremely significant improvement on the fermented formula 2which has 0.3% herbal proportion(P<0.01). The rest groups have no obvious differences comparing with control groups and antibiotic treatment groups.By summarizing those results, set 10(with 0.3% formula 4) has the most significant effects to poultry production, carcass quality, meat quality and flavor. It could be the most appropriate feed additives to replace antibiotic additives in real life. Conclusion from the above results, the group of 10(formula 4 to 0.3%) of 817 poultry production performance, carcass quality and meat flavor is most significantly, the influence of the most suitable for Chinese herbal medicine feed additive instead of antibiotic feed additive used in practical production.
