Comparison Test Of Melon In Huzhou City And The Extension Test Of “Hutian No.1”

As the summer fruit, the muskmelon belongs to high-grade fruit in the international market. With the expanding of consumer market at home and abroad,the growing area of muskmelon expands year by year in Huzhou. But because of varieties of slow update speed, the existing varieties can not completely meet the production needs. So we desperately needs the germplasm resources of muskmelon, and selectes high quality, multi resistance new muskmelon to suitable for Huzhou area. Also we want to develop the new muskmelon varieties with independent intellectual property rights, and train with the regional characteristics of excellent-melon industry.Through the introduction of new varieties in Huzhou City, this paper carried out the varieties comparative test. With different sowing, transplanting period, different test methods vine pruning stay, by the comprehensive comparison of birth, yield, disease resistance, fruit quality traits and other aspects, it screened variety of muskmelon suitable for large scale cultivation of Huzhou area, such as ’Honey-Jade’, ’West-Boluo No.2’,’San-Xiong No.5’,’Yong-Sweet No.7’,’Early-Green’,’JN09-2’ muskmelon etc. On this basis, through cross breeding of new varieties of ’Hutian No.1’. It conducted point-comparison test over two years. From the aspect of the growth period, yield, plant traits, flowering habits, traits and fruit quality, disease resistance, etc., it systematically and comprehensively evaluated the new varieties of ’Hutian No.1’, what’s more, it established the supporting cultivation of standardized production procedures, provided a reliable scientific basis for the application of the ’Hutian No.1’.
