Serological Investigation Of Aleutian Mink Disease In Parts Of China

Aleutian mink disease(AMD) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Aleutian mink disease virus(AMDV). To further understand the prevalence of Aleutian disease in our country, 126,748 samples have been collected in 2013 to 2014.They were from Heilongjiang Province, Hebei Province, Shandong Province, Liaoning Province and Jilin Province, the five major mink farming provinces in China. CIEP were used for the testing and the results were analyzed.63,799 copies were detected in Heilongjiang Province, and the positive rate was 29%; 23,452 copies were detected in Shandong Province, and the positive rate there was 54%;4570 copies were detected in Hebei Province,and the positive rate was 44%;26,927 copies were detected in Liaoning Province with a positive rate at 24%; In Jilin, 8000 were detected, and the positive rate was 67 %. We can come to the conclusion, that the positive rate in Heilongjiang Province and Liaoning Provincecan were relatively lower, but those in Jilin, Shandong and Hebei Province were a bit higher.The result showed us a overall positive rate at 36%.In this study, the prevalence of some mink farms in Mountain area in Heilongjiang Province were compared, he lowest positive rate of which was 13 % and the positive rate is up to 85%. The overall positive rate was low,but some of the farms were suffering from the disease;Five domestic farm that had controlling measures were followed up for one year, which confirms a reduction of the positive rate in different degree. For further verification of the influence of Aleutian Mink on farrowing rate, the prevalence rate and the average Litter size of a certain farm were counted,which shows the Aleutian mink disease affect the calving rate.In this experiment, Aleutian Mink Disease colloidal gold strip were applied in large quantitie for the first time in China, to compare with the results of counter immuno electrophoresis, and the results showed the agreement rate of these two methods were up to 88 %. Colloidal gold test strip is fast, easy to operate and sensitive, it can be a new approach to the detectionin of Aleutian disease in the future. In recent years Aleutian disease of mink in China has a serious bad influence,and this research area provide reference and basic data for the Aleutian Mink Disease prevention and control.
