Daidzein was considered a kind of green feed additives, with a variety of physiological activity utility. The paper was studied the effects of Daidzein on beef, rumen fermentation and microflora. Its provided a theoretical basis and technical reference for daidzein in beef cattle production applications.the following spects of the research:Experiment1:Effects of daidzein on the carcass performance index, meat quality and related indexes of finishing cattle.Fourteen healthy, similar weight(450 +20kg), about 2 years old crossbred xiangzhong black cattles were randomly divided into two groups and each group of seven, control group were feeded based diet and trial group were feeded basal diet+500 mg/kg daidzein(press concentrate count). It was tested for 120 days. The results showed that:(1) Supplemented daidzein was not significantly effects of slaughter weight, hot carcass weight, and dressing percentage, but it was tended to reduced fat proportion in carcass and backfat thickness of steers, but its difference was not significantly(P > 0.05).(2) Supplemented daidzein were significantly increaseed the longest back intramuscular fat content and marbling score(P < 0.05), Supplemented daidzein were respectively increased the control group 8.34%, 1.93, Supplemented daidzein were significantly reduced pH at 24 h after slaughtered and moisture content(P < 0.05) and its was significantly increased the muscle redness and chromaticity(P < 0.05);(3) The concentrations of blood metabolites including glucose, blood urea nitrogen, triglyceride, total cholesterol, non-esterified fatty acid, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were droped in steers fed daidzein diets than those fed control diets(P <0.05).Experiment2:Effects of daidzein on rumen fermentation of beef cattle.Three healthy jinjiang yellow cattle with installing permanent rumen fistula were chosed for the experiment,it was designed self-reflection trial, it was divided into two period(control period and trial period),and the diet was added daidzein of 500 mg/kg(press concentrate count). The results showed that:(1) Supplemented daidzein were significantly droped the times’ average pH on trial period cattle than control period(P < 0.05),and all were in the normal rumen pH range;(2) supplemented daidzein were improved the concentration of tumor total volatile fatty acid(TVFA), acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and acetic acid/propionic acid ratio in gastric juice, but its difference was not significant(P﹥0.05);(3) supplemented daidzein were significantly droped the concentration of NH3-N on trial period cattle than control period(P < 0.05);(4) supplemented daidzein were trend to increased the concentration of microbial protein(MCP) on trial period cattle than control period(P=0.053).Experiment3:Effects of daidzein on rumen microbial flora diversity and structure in Jinjiang yellow cattle. The Miseq high-throughput measurement technology was used to the experimen t,three healthy jinjiang yellow cattle with installing permanent rumen fistula were ch ose for the experiment,it was used self-reflection to designed and divided into two period(control period and trial period),daidzein was added 500 mg/kg(press concen trate count). The results showed that:(1)It was seem from the phylum, supplemente d daidzein were highly significant improved content of the rumen bacteroidetes(P < 0.01); Supplemented daidzein were trend to significantly reduced content of the S pirochaetae(P = 0.067);(2)It was seem from the genus, and were compared with the control period, supplemented daidzein were improved ruminobacter62.17%,Prevotella12.58%,Succinivibrionaceae uncultured5.87%,Succinivibrio100.93%,Victivallis52.30%.Conclusions:(1) lipid metabolism was affected by daidzein, the intramuscular fat deposition was promoted by it,and marbling score and meat quality was improved by daidzein in fattening steers;(2)the function of rumen fermentation was improved by daidzein;(3) the bacteroidetes growth were promoted by daidzei, the prevotella and succinivibrio growth were promoted by daidzei.
