The present study elaborates the experiments by using wild Sorbus pohuashanensis plants in Shanxi province. The successive studies have been conducted. i.e.the optimized solution on breaking Sorbus pohuashanensis’dormancy and cultivation, the best ratio of induction phytohormones combination. These results are used by test on 2 spices of wild Sorbus pohuashanensis of landscape application value for Sorbus pohuashanensis, the study on the reason of seed dormancy of Sorbus pohuashanesis,propagating methods,callus induction. The study aims at offering an scientific reference of sorbus production and also, a reference for the landscape architecture. As a result, the study can serve as a guideline for the landscape design industry in Shanxi as well as in China. The experiment conclusions are as follows:1.The wild sorbus pohuashanensis plants in Shanxi province is highly recommended for promotion in landscape design industry. Landscape application value of Sorbus pohuashanensis is so high. Presently, the plants haven’t been adopted in large scale yet.2.The reason of wild sorbus seed dormancy in Pangquangou is mainly because alcohol-Solute germination inhibitor in its seed coats and embryos. With the increasing amount of germination inhibitor, the seed germination has been neutralized, and the seed dormancy thus happened.3. The propagating of sorbus seeds is mainly by reproduction. And some useful measures can break the seed dormancy, i.e. straight seeded in autumn, gibberellins treatment, low-temperature stratification treatment, or the combination of gibberellins treatment and stratification treatment, and aseptic tissue culturing, the experiment results are listed below:Ⅰ.In the treatment of sorbus seeds, the germination rate differs in different concentration of gibberellin solusions. The highest germination rate 22.67% comes from 0.5g/L gibberellin solusions.Ⅱ. Because of the different places and environment of stratification, the germination rate is also varies. The stratification in the refrigerator at 2℃ is slightly higher than in low temperature outdoor, the highest rate is 42.80%.III.Different ways of sowing can also influence the germination period. Aseptic tissue culturing sees the shortest period, no matter the seed is old or new, for 7 days. In this way, it reduces the period of low temperature pre-treatment of new seeds, thus the efficiency is largely elevated.IV.The germination rate of sorbus seeds can be arranged in the order from high to low, i.e. the combination of gibberellins treatment and stratification treatment> stratification treatment>gibberellins treatment> straight seeds. The adoption of the combined treatment comes the highest germination rate at 52.00%,the average germination rate is 48.33%.4.The study on callus induction of sorbus pohuashanensis:an ideal period for leaves sterilization under HgCl2 is 6 minutes, and the best ratio of induction phytohormones combination on callus induction should be 0.1 mg/L NAA+1.0 mg/L 6-BA.
