Plum Landscape Design Of Hunan Forest Botanical Garden

Plum is one of the top ten famous traditional flowers in China, is the most unique and essential landscape elements. Plum culture is part of our traditions. Recently, the traditional plum culture has suffered significantly due to the rapid development of modern society. What requires our research is how to better apply plum culture to modern plum landscaping, thus creating featured and colorful landscapes. This essay is based on the research method of field survey and overall analysis, relevant knowledge of ecology, aesthetics and landscape literature has been theoretically used to conduct the research of plum landscape design. The main outcomes are as the following:(1)From the consulting of the literature to learn predecessors’research of the Variety Breeding of the plum, the plum culture and the blossom in the landscape application. Plum has a high position in the Flowers.(2)The writer has also conducted field surveys to the plum landscape in Wuhan, Changsha, Kunming, Hangzhou, Suzhou; and analyzed the plum landscape from the perspective of the garden location, topographic treatment, accessorial building design and plant collocation; Summed up the current plum landscape design deficiencies are: topography changes is not strong and lack of artistic features; monotonous landscape types and Plant configuration level rich enough;the plum environment lack of regional culture characteristics.(3)According to the plum landscape planting methods and environmental characteristics of the landscape,the writer proposed some types of plum landscape includes:plum grove, plumvalley,plumpavilion,plumstream,plum bonsai and so on. Plum proposed landscape design must follow the principle of zoology, artistry and culture; describing the design theory and method of plum landscape from ecology conception, painting conception,artistic conception,fragrant conception.(4)According to the environment feature and local cultural characteristics of Hunnan Forest Botanical Garden, the plum landscape is designed,includ three characteristic landscape areas:"XI SHANG MEI SHAO","TA XUE XUN MEI","SUI HAN SAN YOU",and one Bonsai exhibition area,also designed some plum landscape types which are provided with Hunan cultural characteristics such as plum lawn, plum path,plum stone, plum pavilion,plum walland so on.In summary, when designing the plum blossom landscape, people should make full use of the plum blossom culture and use different elements to create distinctive plum blossom landscape with aesthetics and culture connotation.
