Establishment And Application Of "Total Mixed Ration Feeding Management System" In Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

With the development of the dairy farm intensification, scale and mechanization, TMR feedingtechnology spread quickly. To make this technology can exert its maximum economic benefits, improvethe level of dairy farming in our country,combined with the technical specifications for TMR andthe author’s many years experience in dairy production, a set of corresponding TMR feedingmanagement system were developed and promoted.This paper consists of four main parts:1.TMR feeding survey in Dairy farms: The in-field survey of TMR feeding management was commi-tted in30different dairy farms located in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei provinces, by visiting, Guidingfarms and using designed Questionnaire. We found that many farmers were not concerned about theroughage and roughage management, herd management. So it has many problems, such as dietformulation, bad process monitoring of TMR mixture and not high personnel quality. These factorsabove all have become the bottleneck restriction of dairy farm development.2. Grouping test in dairy cows population: The test of grouping has showed that the scientific andreasonable grouping can increase the milk yield of milking cows rapidly. Thus, cows’ grouping is avery important part for the promotion of TMR feeding technique.3. Establishment of "TMR feed management systems" and promotion:Through careful investigationand experimental research in dairy production, combined with the technical specifications for TMRand author’s many years experience in dairy production, we developed a set of corresponding TMRfeeding management system. We did the feeding management by following aspects, such as TMRequipment operation and maintenance, personnel and information management, cows’ groupingmanagement, ratio of dietary nutrition, dietary ration production and delivery, quality control andevaluation, feed bunk management and feeding effect evaluation. We worked out a set of feasiblepromotion program from production practical, such as publicity, organizing dairy cow training coursefor workers and farm managers, organizing dairy cow competition, establishing a dairy demonstrationfarm. These measures were well carried out and got good results.4. Promotion effect analysis: By analysis of the ten farms which applied the promotion of TMRfeeding management system, we found that this system has widely raised their average yield of dairycows and economic benefits, declined the incidence of some disease and brought potential benefits tofarms. Practice has proved that the establishment of TMR feeding management system canguarantee the consistency of "three diets". It is a good effective, reasonable and practical system.
