In this experiment, we regarded fenbendazole as based medicine, choosed a suitablesuspending agent, wetting agent and other excipients for preparing suspensions, andestablished the quality control method for the suspensions. We used univariate test andorthogonal to screen the prescription, then optimized it. Inspections of pharmacycharacteristic of fenbendazole suspensions include physical properties test, further dispersiontest, volumetric ratio of sedimentation measurement and pharmaceutically effective contenttest. We used UV-vision spectrophotometry to review the content of fenbendazole, and testedthe recovery and precision. The best prescription as follows,25mL suspension containedfenbendazole, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, Tween-80, citric acid, sodium benzoate,which respectively:1.250g,0.250g,0.025mL,0.250g and0.025g. Characteristicinspection results of fenbendazole suspensions pharmacy were in line with Chinese VeterinaryPharmacopoeia requirements on the quality of suspensions. Measurement results of UV-visible spectrophotometry indicated that fenbendazole had a high recovery and good precision.Fenbendazole suspensions prepared by this experiment were accord with the qualityrequirements, which was a simple preparation process, could be widely used in veterinaryclinic to expand production.
