[Objective] This study was carried out to investigate the cultivation pattern and water-saving mechanismand put forward the water management pattern of the region membrane under drip irrigation of thehigh-efficient and high-yield corn, the characteristics of dry matter accumulation and distribution, leaf areaindex(LAI), grain yield and water use efficiency(WUE) were studied to provide the theory basis for watermanagement of high yield maize in the region membrane under drip irrigation.[Methods] We choose zhendan-958as the experimental material and set eight different irrigation quotawhich through the method of combining experiment and theory under the condition of drip irrigation underfilm, such as soil moisture before sowing225m3/hm2(W1T1),450m3/hm2(W1T2),675m3/hm2(W1T3),900m3/hm2(W1T4) and no soil moisture before sowing225m3/hm2(W2T1),450m3/hm2(W2T2),675m3/hm2(W2T3),900m3/hm2(W2T4), the dry matter accumulation and distribution, plantheight, LAI and other biological characters were studied during the period of duration, the yield wasestimated after matured in plot.[Results]1)LAI of different treatments showed a trend of a single peak, the maximum LAI appeared attassel-silking, LAI under high irrigation significantly bigger than low irrigation at later period.2)Plantheight and dry matter accumulation showed a trend of “S”, treatment W1is higher than treatment W2at theearly and mid period; high irrigation is higher than low irrigation from mid to later period, but there is nosignificance.3)The products of leaf photosynthesis after flowering is85.73%~90.97%of maize seed drymatter accumulation under mulched drip irrigation, the products of photosynthesis from leaf, sheath, haulmbefore flowering and bract in the middle period do only9.07%~14.27%.4)The yield of W1and W1showed a trend of a parabolic curve under different irrigation,W1T3made the highest yield of15702.15kg/hm2,W2T3makes the highest yield of15636.15kg/hm2;5)W1T1andW2T1made the highest WUE,2.81kg/m3and2.86kg/m3respectively. Different irrigation quota mainly affected the yield through grainnumber, not other characters of spike.6)Water consumption during growth period increases with irrigationquota, but growth rate shows a decreasing trend.7)Water consumption at each growth stage or each dayincreased with water irrigation quota except seeding stage. Daily maximum water consumption of W1andW2appeared at tassel-silking,6.83mm/d and8.9mm/d respectively.[Conclusion] Treatment W1promotes plant height, LAI and dry matter accumulation in the early growthperiod of maize under mulched drip irrigation, but the influence fell off at later. Both yield and WUE wereappropriate for local under675m3/hm2of irrigation quota, treatment W1should be irrigated7times whileW2should be irrigated8times.
