Guizhou province is the genuine production area of Pinellia ternata, but the scarce wild resources&the degraded quality cultural resources can not meet the market demands. Currently there are still many problems to be solved in the artificial cultivation of Pinellia ternata, such as low propagation coefficient, the problem of variety degeneration and continuous cropping, etc. It’s need to have new discoveries in the existing cultivated technically in the artificial cultivation of Pinellia ternata to improve it’s quality and yield. The innovative point of this experiment is that starting from the environmental factors needed for growth of Pinellia ternata, and selecting two factors that most influence the growth and development of Pinellia ternata:light and water. This experiment divided the light factor into three parts, ie, light intensity, light quality, and photoperiod.Exploreing these three factors on the growth and development of Pinellia ternata by processing the artificial cultivation process respectively, to get a way that can improve the cultivation methods and the yield and quality of medicinal parts of Pinellia ternata. The main results as following:1. It could promote the growth and development of Pinellia ternata and promote the content of soluble reducing sugar, total sugar, alkaloids, and succinic acid under yellow light. Under blue light could promote the content of soluble protein and guanosine; Red and yellow light increased the content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b, otherwise blue light reduced the content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b; White film through the most uniform spectrum was most conducive to the synthesis of chlorophyll a; as single film, blue film, yellow film were more conducive to the synthesis of chlorophyll a,green film and red film had been relatively beneficial to the synthesis of chlorophyll b. Bulbil formed the largest number and the biggest propagation coefficient of Pinellia ternata under red light showed that it could increase the production of Pinellia ternata under red light.2. It could increase the content of soluble reducing sugar, soluble protein, guanosine, succinic acid, alkaloids under12L12D photoperiod;long photoperiod was conducive to the biosynthesis of alkaloids and guanosine but not conducive to the accumulation of soluble sugar, total sugar, protein and succinic acid; under18L6D photoperiod was conducive to weight increasing; under6L18D photoperiod was conducive to the formation and germination of bulbils and improvement of the propagation coefficient; under0L24D photoperiod was not conducive to the growth and improve the quality of Pinellia ternata.3. With the increase of the degree of shade, there was an significant increase of height, leaf area, fresh weight, the propagation coefficient of Pinellia ternata; low light intensity could reduce the photoinhibition of Pinellia ternata, and was conducive to the growth and development of Pinellia ternata; it was conducive to the accumulation of proteins, alkaloids, succinic acid and guanosine in full sunlight, but was not conducive to the accumulation of soluble sugar and reducing sugar; in the range of85%shaded, there was an increase of soluble sugar and reducing sugar content, but a decrease of alkaloids, succinic acid, and guanosine content with the increase of the degree of shade.4. Soil moisture content of60%,75%was most conducive to the accumulation of total soluble sugar, reducing sugar, succinic acid etc,and enlargement of Pinellia ternata tubers, increased soil moisture was not conducive to the accumulation of alkaloids, but was conducive to the content of guanosine; soil moisture content of30%,45%and90%were not conducive to the increase of leaf area, plant height and the synthesis of chlorophyll,it will also produce excessive reactive oxygen species and have a negative impact on the the growth and quality of Pinellia ternata.
