As key components of cotton-picker, level spindles have to be all changed after one or two seasonsdue to wear easily, and thus,which lead to the high operation and maintenance costs. Therefore, in order tomake cotton-picking fully realized mechanization in our country, it`s very necessary and importantsignificantly to study the localization process for level spindle of cotton-picker.This article choose the core working parts as the research object,which based on the level spindle typecotton-picker, and the working principle, process routes of the failure forms and causes, machining, heattreatment and forming methods and key parts manufacturing process of the level spindle has been studied,and its main content is as follows:(1) Analyzed the picking principle of level cotton-picker, the failure modes and possible reasons forthe failure through the research for abrasion of the level spindles after a picking season in guihang. Test andanalyze the internal elements and surface coating of the spindle which based on the high magnificationelectron microscopy. Infered and completed the localization reasonable material for spindle—20CrMnTi、25Mn、30Mn、30Mn2, which has been layed for the follow-up of the spindle technology research.(2) Proposed the machining process route under the single small batch and mass, through the analysisfor the structure complexity and special technical requirements of spindle.Through the experiments, someof the key working procedure of machine tool equipment and process equipment selection has beenchoosen for the single small batch.The mechanical processing technology was used in processing highspindle performance, lower cost, long life and other advantages.(3) Analyzed the forming methods of the level spindle, and the level spindle bevel gear has carried onthe finite element analysis of forming process based on Deform-3D under the condition of20CrMnTi alloysteel material and two kinds of cold precision forging methods,and the analysis results has been verified thefeasibility of the material. This method has been improved the material properties and extended the life ofthe spindle, and efficient use of materials, reduce the cost and improved the productivity.(4) For the research of the spindle key parts manufacturing process, which analyzed the factorsinfluencing the quality of its processing with spindle front longitudinal slot as the research object. Chooseone jig influence factors, dedicated fixture design for the longitudinal slot based on a horizontal machine,and verified the feasibility finally.The longitudinal slot has carried on the simulation of multi-axis NCmachining by UG, and generate the post-processing NC code eventually. Finally,verify the rationality ofNC machining process parameters through the sample test.I hope that the study of the core components of spindle localization may provide certain theoreticalbasis and technical reference for cotton-picker in our country through the research work of this paper.
