In this paper,we got8combinations between tester0309558and8processing pepper inbred linesthrough the top-cross method. In open field cultivation, planted three repeats and analyzed thecombining ability, and making correlation and path analysis. The results are as follows:The combining ability analysis indicated that there is big difference in pepper combining ability effectvalue between different characters in the same parent. For example, one of the test parents078-2-3,yieldcombining ability maximum is359.38, but the fruit length combining ability is-2.44in all tested lines isthe lowest; the study also found that the two parents or one of them with high general combining ability,the combination often has strong advantages: inbred lines078-2-3,the effect value of fruit numbercombining ability is the highest, and the plant yield and section yield combining ability is also thehighest;Correlation analysis showed that there was very significant positive correlation between number offruits per plant and yield of per plant;the relationship between plant height and yield reached significantpositive correlation (r=0.743),the plant height has a certain impact on yield,appropriately increase plantheight in the premise of not affecting the average fruit weight can increase the yield.The results of pathanalysis showed that,the fruit number and the plant yield had very significant positive correlation,thefruit number effects on the plant yield directly,path coefficient is the largest (2.5692) in the maincharacters;the correlation coefficient between the average fruit weight and yield,is r=0.396,although it isnot significant,the direct coefficient of average fruit weight path analysis to the yield,is P=2.2183,theinfluence on the yield is relatively large.So we should pay attention to the fruit number and the averagefruit weight selection in high yield breeding works,harmonize the indirect effects between the maincharacters,and provide a theoretical basis for the high yield and high quality breeding of processingpepper.
