The research was begun in Batu Salix forest base in Ejin Horo Banner of Erdos Inner Mongolia in April 2010.Salix sand barrier treated by environmentally friendly preservative CuAz and ACQ with different concentrations and different soaking time was studied, and the physical properties and chemical composition of the Salix sand barrier sampled from field were tested regularly in the laboratory. The results are as follows:(1) After two preservative treatment, Salix sand barrier mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate had the same trend that both loss rates reduced with the increasing concentration of the two preservatives. The above two indicators of Salix sand barrier treated by ACQ reached the minimum values at the concentration of 3% and reached the maximum values at the concentration of 1%. Mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate of sand barrier treated by CuAz reached the minimum values at the concentration of 3.5% and reached the maximum values at the concentration of 1.5%.After two preservative treatment, Salix sand barrier mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate reduced with the increasing treat time. The above two indicators reached the minimum values at 48h and reached the maximum values at 6h.The mean mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate of a sand barrier trend to decrease with the increase of the vertical position. The ground part was the smallest and the underground part was the largest. The remaining amount of the three chemical consitituents gradually reduced from the top to the base. The mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate of Salix sand barrier increased with the increase of sampled year. The samples in May of 2012 were the smallest and the samples in May of 2014 were the largest.(2) With the same concentration and the same treat time, the mass loss rate and flexural strength loss rate of sand barrier treated by ACQ were lower than that treated by CuAz, the cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin content of sand barrier treated by ACQ were hihger than that treated by CuAz.(3) Based on the conclusions, preservative ACQ with the concertration of 2.5% and preservative CuAz with the concertration of 2% were proposed to soak the Salix sand barrier for 24h in the actual producing process.
