The article take Xinlinhaote as the research object. Investigation and analysis of Xinlinhaote representative of park green space, green production space, protective greenbelt, attached green space and other green space by literature review, field survey,analysis,and other research methods. Main contents including the type of municipal green space layout, green space, green space index, the application of plant species and plant configuration mode and regional culture characteristic. The deep understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of urban greening in Xinlinhaote, and gives the corresponding suggestions.Main results:(1) The aspect of green space layout:The main layout form is "three green circle, and the combination of radial structure of urban green space.(2) The aspect of green space types:Green space types mainly include the park green space, the green production space, the protective green space and the accessory greenbelt.(3)The aspect of urban green space index:Green land with a total area of 1365.4 hm2, rate is 36.41%, green coverage of 38.12%. The park green land area of 310.15 hm2, rate is 76.5%, green coverage of 82.5%, the per capita park green space area of 16.
