A small area of fish farming technology divides the whole surface of water into several small piece to feed different types of fish, and it’s feeding systems are progressively automated with automatic positioning and navigating boat to feed. Automatic feeding vessels traverse the entire area of the water to ensure that there is no blind area and once they scan fish by using related technologies they will feed. Since the automatic feeding area is small, it has a high requirement of positioning accuracy. Using automatic feeding system can liberate large numbers of workers in order to reduce farming costs, so the research of it has a good prospect.In this paper, the surface area of precise positioning technology on water is focused as a research object. It is studied and put into practice in the fisheries automatic farming systems. First, this paper introduces several single sensor positioning methods in details, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Secondly, it describes the basic concepts, integration level, fusion method and practical application of multi-sensor data fusion technology, and analysis the Kalman filter algorithm theory which is used in the precise positioning technology on water. What’s more, it builds the recurrence formula. Based on the above analysis, we use GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass sensors to have a precise positioning by using Kalman filter algorithm. This paper designs the hardware structure of the positioning system, analyze how the circuits work of each sensor module, and it also analyzes the communication interface of ARM processor to design the program. All in all, the designing runs Kalman filter algorithm in embedded systems and shows the orientation of results and trajectory on LCD screen.Finally, this paper has the tests of the effect of the actual positioning with combined positioning system based on multi-sensor data fusion and compared with single GPS positioning effects. It also analyzes their deviations. Compared with the single GPS positioning sensor results, the system designed by this paper has a higher accuracy of positioning effect.And the result is so good as we expect.
