In nature, plants are able to express innate immunity and trigger defense signaling through receptor-mediated recognition of conserved microbial structures termed pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) or elicitors. Elicitors are molecules which play a key role in the induction of plant defense responses and enhanced plant disease resistance against its pathogens. In this study, we purified protein elicitors,Hripl from the culture filtrate of necrotrophic fungus, A. tenuissima, MoHripl from the culture filtrate of rice blast pathogenic fungus Magnaporthe oryzae., PeaTl from the mycelium of Alternaria tenuissima and PevD1 from Verticillium dahliae. The molecular mechanism of resistance induced by Hripl elicitor in rice was study by application of real-time PCR. And the data demonstrated that the defense pathways related to gene expression induced by hrip1 might be dependent on the SA signaling pathways and also JA/Et pathway. We also studied the growth enhancement of four protein elicitors in rice.This study revealed that the elicitors could induce resistance in rice and provide useful information for further study in mechanisms of this protein elicitor. The main results are summarized as follows:1. Expression and purification of four protein elicitors Hripl, MoHrip1, PeaTl and PevDl for following experiments and comparison of them with each other:Growth enhancement experiment in rice, Number of seed germination,Induce Resistance to rice blast fungus, and also defense signaling network depends on Hrip1 in rice plants.2. growth enhancement experiment:the result showed that PeaTl had a best function in rice Height and Hripl Had a best function in Root length. And the result of Number of seed germination demonstrated that Peatl and PevDl had a best number of germination in rice with 100% germination of seeds.3. Induce resistance to rice blast fungus:the result showed that almost all of the elicitors in study could induce resistance to M.Oryzae but peatl showed the best resistance as compare of other elicitors.4. Detection of the expression of key genes in defense signaling pathway by real-time PCR demonstrated that SA signaling pathways and also JA/Et pathway are involved in the defense response induced by Hripl Protein elicitor.
