In order to calculate the green biomass in Changting county, using the geomatics technology to process the CCD image which received from the environmental resources satellite HJ-1 in March 2012. Then the Chinese fir, pine, bamboo and hardwood are classified according to their spectrum grayscale threshold. And the Leaf Area Index(LAI) was measured on the spot. The advantage of the method lies in using the satellite image data that it turns to be quick and easy to distinguish the element of the survey region with the aid of related software. The result of the research shows that the percentage of the forestland in Changting county is 86.62%, the total amount of the green biomass in Changting county is 768781.2 hm2.Among the towns in the county, the distribution of green biomass in Shanzhou and other towns keep in a low level. On the other side,Tiechang and others stay in a higher level. Then combined with the situation of soil and water conservation work in the locality, we found the green biomass negatively correlated with soil erosion degree generally. It can provide a decision-making support for rational management and long-term.Due to the application of geomatics technology, on the base of collection about related data for processing, then extract the rainfall erosion force factor (R factor), soil to erosion factor (K factor), terrain factor (LS factor), vegetation measures management factor (C factor) and control measures factor (P factor) of research regional. According to universal soil loss equation, multiply each factor obtained above and then get the grid figure of soil erosion volume in research region. And use the township of AOI in Changting county to get the township grid map of soil erosion, soil erosion rate is calculated according to definition based on the amount of soil erosion in small towns, and analyzethe spatial distribution of these differences. On the basis of per unit area of forest green biomass and soil erosion ratescalculated above, then use the related analysis method and quantitative models to describe the relationship between these two variables, at last obtained different models of mathematical equations. The results showed that green biomass per unit area was significantly negatively correlated with soil erosion rate. Variance of the models were more than 0.5. Results can provide decision supportfor the rational management and conservation of forests in the region.
