The test was taking on ‘Hayward’ and ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit, studying the effect of summer pruning technology including tip squeezing, keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, keeping 3 to 4 leaves to top removal and non-pruning until the growth became week on strong-growing shoots on the growth and fruiting of kiwifruit, to search after the most optimal summer pruning method of kiwifruit shoots. The results were follows:First: Tip squeezing on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit could significantly increase and improve the fruit yield and quality, the he fruit yield and quality were the highest, the yield were 3.33 kg/m2,the weight of single fruit was 101.84 g,the quality of the fruit when they were picked respectively were followed: the firmness were 8.76 kg/cm2, the soluble solid content were 6.53%,the dry matter content were 17.62%,the Vc content were 2.940 mg.g-1,the acid content were 2.20%,the content of total sugar were 7.48%,the sugar-acid ratio were 3.34, the quality of the fruit when they were ripening and softening respectively were followed: the firmness were 0.98 kg/cm2, the soluble solid content were 14.65%,the dry matter content were 16.35%,the Vc content were 0.980 mg.g-1,the acid content were 2.16%,the content of total sugar were 22.15%,the sugar-acid ratio were 10.62,secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, and keeping 3 to 4 leaves to top removal was followed, non-pruning until the growth became week was the lowest.Second: When tip squeezing and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit, the germination rate in the ensuing year were higher, were respectively 66.45% and 64.85%, the number of inflorescence per fruiting shoot in the ensuing year were higher, were respectively 5.65 and 5.54, followed with keeping 3 to 4 leaves to top removal, non-pruning until the growth became week was the lowest.Third : Tip squeezing and non-pruning until the growth became week on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit could significantly save labor, the germination rate of the secondary branch were both zero which can save the laber to remove the secondary branches, secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, the germination rate of the secondary branch was 49.25%, and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal was the highest, the germination rate of the secondary branch was 68.30%.Fourth: Tip squeezing on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit could significantly control vigorous growth of shoot, and make up appropriate leaf canopy structure and leaf-fruit ratio, the total growth of the kiwifruit shoot were 36.02 cm,the leaf area index was3.06,the leaf-fruit ratio was 4.02, the yield, quality, germination and bearing capacity were maximum at this condition, secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal was followed, the efficiency of non-pruning until the growth became week was the worst.Fifth: Tip squeezing on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit could significantly increase and improve the fruit yield and quality, the he fruit yield and quality were the highest, the yield were 2.06 kg/m2,the weight of single fruit was 72.22 g,the quality of the fruit when they were picked respectively were followed: the firmness were 6.63 kg/cm2, the soluble solid content were 9.62%,the dry matter content were 17.54%,the Vc content were 1.820 mg.g-1,the acid content were 1.36%,the content of total sugar were 12.78%,the sugar-acid ratio were 9.97, the quality of the fruit when they were ripening and softening respectively were followed: the firmness were 0.33 kg/cm2, the soluble solid content were 19.34%,the dry matter content were 16.35%,the Vc content were 1.375 mg.g-1,the acid content were 1.16%,the content of total sugar were 41.91%,the sugar-acid ratio were 40.91,secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, and keeping 3 to 4 leaves to top removal was followed, non-pruning until the growth became week was the lowest.Sixth: When tip squeezing and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit, the germination rate in the ensuing year were higher, were respectively 61.91% and 60.81%, number of inflorescence per fruiting shoot in the ensuing year were higher, were respectively 6.18 and 6.15, followed with keeping 3 to 4 leaves to top removal, non-pruning until the growth became week was the lowest.Seventh: Tip squeezing and non-pruning until the growth became week on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit could significantly save labor, the germination rate of the secondary branch were both zero which can save the laber to remove the secondary branches secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, the germination rate of the secondary branch was 47.12%, and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal was the highest, the germination rate of the secondary branch was 71.82%.Eighth: Tip squeezing on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit could significantly control vigorous growth of shoot, and make up appropriate leaf canopy structure and leaf-fruit ratio, the total growth of the kiwifruit shoot were 39.05 cm,the leaf area index was3.09,the leaf-fruit ratio was 4.04, the yield, quality, germination and bearing capacity were maximum at this condition, secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal was followed, the efficiency of non-pruning until the growth became week was the worst.Ninth: The comprehensive results of tip squeezing on the strong-growing shoot of the ‘Hayward’ and the ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit was the best, secondly with keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal, and keeping 7 to 8 leaves to top removal was followed, non-pruning until the growth became week was the worst.
