Therefore, an urgent need for large-scale artificial cultivation of Astragalus membranaceus. However, in actual production, seed dormancy phenomenon, seed vigor identification, seed storage, growth and development of seedlings are of great significance for Astragalus membranaceus standardized cultivation.The experimental material is seed of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.) Bunge var. mongholicus(Bunge) P. K. Hsiao. Through the study of inhibitors within Astragalus membranaceus seed, seed germination characteristics and seed vigor related research and the research of seed storage, to find out the cause of Astragalus membranaceus seed dormancy, and provide theoretical basis and technical basis for the Astragalus membranaceus seed quality inspection and seed storage. In addition, this test also cooperate with the company of Yulin Guang Ji Tong, to study the phenology and growth of Astragalus membranaceus in Yulin. Through the above research, to providing technical guidance for high yield and quality of Astragalus membranaceus. The main results were as follows:1. Highly active inhibitory substances were found in the seed of Astragalus membranaceus. The active inhibitory substances in seed kernel is higher than seed coat in Astragalus membranaceus seeds. Through the extraction and separation, and carries on the determination of activity, found that Astragalus membranaceus seed endogenous inhibitor are water-soluble ingredients, which is mainly organic acid. The existence of an endogenous inhibitor may be one of the main reasons for seed dormancy in seed of Astragalus membranaceus; The seriously hardseedness of Astragalus membranaceus seeds affected of moisture absorption, thus impeding the seed germination. It is also among the causes of seed dormancy of Astragalus membranaceus.2. The vigor of hard seeds was greater than that of soft seeds, and there was significant positive correlation between seed vigor and hardness in Astragalus membranaceus. The seeds with more dark colour and larger size had higher vigor in Astragalus membranaceus seeds, and the highest vigor is big black seeds. The seed vigor of Astragalus membranaceus has certain correlation with hardseedness and seed morphology.3. The deterioration degree of Astragalus membranaceus seed is minimum which storage at-20℃, and their physiological parameters related to seed vigor are better than the other three.-20 is beneficial to the storage of ℃ Astragalus membranaceus seeds.4.
